I’m not emotionally ready to see a contract that shepherds Sid to retirement. Stay forever young, Sid. |

It's not gonna hit as hard for me as when Mario retired...both times. Man, when Mario came back out of first retirement...I'll never forget seeing the announcement on TSN that he was returning to NHL. It made me so fvcking happy hahahah he came back vs the Leafs, who a lot of people in my life love, and it was Christmas time. 3 point game. Just truly magical.
Now, in saying that, when Sid came back from all the time off with head and neck injuries, when for a while there was talks he may never play again, vs the Isles that night...that was a really happy time too haha. 4 points. |

Dude takes 3 years off, comes back with half the season already gone and finishes 30th in scoring and the highest PPG in the league.
Yeah, he was kinda okay. |

We've had a semi open canvass the last few years. For some reason, we are tripling down on bottom 6 forwards and depth dmen instead of using cap space to acquire talent and scoring. - buckster2342
I'd say the lack of a farm system caught up to them in recent years. Makes it easier to spread out your dollars when you have some young guys to plug in. Even a couple of DOC level forwards would have made a big difference. |

Unfortunately this semi conservative approach of holding onto assets and trying to refill the system should’ve started in 2018 as soon as they didn’t threepeat so they would have young talent the past couple years. 2025-2026 is likely Malkin’s last year, and unless a several miracles happen, the era is going to end with a whimper. |

Chronologically, yes, but in all reality, this era ends with how you choose to remember it. If you are going to choose to remember the last 3-4 years of the team not making the playoffs then that sucks for you. This era is going to end with 3 Stanley Cups, a 4th finals appearance, multiple deep playoff runs, at least two HOF'ers playing in Pens jerseys for their entire career. In all reality this era of Penguins hockey, far eclipses just about every fanbases hopes and dreams for their team.

I feel the same, that's why I'm on team let them retire here
It was rough both times Mario retired knowing we might never have a player close to that caliber. But Sid is pretty good too lol. Not to mention Jagr, Malkin, and several others like Francis and Coffey.
We've probably seen the best players we will see from the Pens in our lifetime. So I want to appreciate them especially Sid while they are still here. However bad the team might be, 600 for Sid and 500 for Malkin will be great to see in a Pens jersey. |

Lord knows, as a Flyers fan, I don’t have a lot of love for Crosby, but I absolutely respect him. Seeing him in any other uniform would just be wrong, he needs to finish his career in Pittsburgh. |

Not every team gives their captain NMC/NTC and then tries to trade them. |

I'd be surprised if he didn't get one. Every indication is they are letting him choose what he wants to do. |

Impressed by how good Murashov's English is already. Another good sign he's thinking of moving to North America sooner rather than later.
Seems his decision is about getting better competition. He's been blocked on his powerhouse team from going to the KHL even though he has a .925 save percentage in 7 games there and almost 94% in his current league. Free agent so can go to WBS or a new Russian team with a better chance for KHL time or stick with his hometown team. |

Pipeline is strong in net. Hopefully Jarry salvages some trade value this year and they can roll with Murashov and Blomqvist by 2026. |
