Very good assessment of the off-season. I agree losing McLeod was a huge loss for the bottom six. Optimistic for this year, but need to keep injuries down.

Honestly on the fence with Keefe but a definite upgrade over Green. Hope I am pleasantly surprised

I almost had an accident when I saw a new Devils blog. Not only that, it was a good one. Let's hope this is a sign of things to come.

As much as I'd have loved Saros or Ullmark, Markstrom was the right move. It gives some younger guys time to develop, and with the cap going up, may allow for a goalie signing in two years. It's hard to fault Fitz on anything he did here, although I agree re: MacDermid.

Please consider staying on. It's lovely to see news on my team after it went dark about 3 months into season.

Ullmark may have been nice and his return may have been reduced as all the goalie moves were made and not clear he would sign an extension. Hopefully markstrom at 4mill will be what we need but will mean in a couple seasons we will be looking for a goalie again

You're probably right re: Saros. I think Nashville would have had to have been blown away to move him. Makes me wonder what they really think of Askarov.

It is certainly a head scratcher for sure. Maybe Keefe can get more out of him this time around. But I would have spent my money elsewhere as well

I don’t know how or where they plan on using him. He’s only going to be worse and the role he’ll be given on the 4th line will be unbearable to watch.
