I went to click on capfriendly and was rudely reminded that I hate the Capitals. I will also add that puckpedia sucks. Rant over.

So….Torts to blame for Allison not being able to get a job in the NHL? I liked Allison too but “He’s always hurt”.

When the Flyers first acquired Gurianov, general manager Danny Briere and head coach Tortorella stated that they wanted to give the Russian forward (a former first-round pick by the Dallas Stars who had success at the outset of his NHL career but then whose play fell off sharply) "a long look" on Philly's NHL roster. It didn't work out. Gurianov dressed in only four games, playing mostly on the fourth line. Gurianov and Allison were both free agents this off-season.

-------------

Such a waste as the Flyers focused on a futile playoff run (and grinding out games). He should've been given a long look but Torts wasn't interested.

Way to only take part of one paragraph and make it the entire point. No, I don't think Tortorella handled Allison particularly well.

But I pointed out all the injuries (several times), said Tortorella's assessment was right regarding the frequent injuries making it hard to rely on the player.

I said Allison's attitude after being sent back down apparently left something to be desired. And he hurt his own chances of a recall.

But, yeah, I said it's all on Tortorella. Give me a break!

I mean, they can also see how a guy practices. If Gurianov was given a second chance and didn’t show a sense of urgency then I’d say it’s easy to make that call and not tie yourself up by extending him.

Similarly, if Allison didn’t blow away the Preds on a “prove it” basis then that’s 2 organizations/staff that didn’t really think that highly of the guy - to the point where his only job was going to be out of the country.

Par for the course on this forum Bill. Didn't you know Torts is the reason why everything is wrong with the Flyers these days?

Dude, do you even know what injury Ellis has

"Ellis suffered a torn psoas muscle in 2021. The torn muscle, which runs from the lower spine through the hip, has caused significant hip and core issues for Ellis."

Sports hernia not even close

His point had nothing to do with stating that the injuries were similar. His point was hoping that Drysdale doesn't continue to have long term injury issues.
