this deal could be more reflective of the fact that Montreal is having a difficult time attracting free agents.


Is Montreal actually having issues with attracting UFAs or is Montreal wisely executing a complete rebuild and not targeting many UFAs?

They’re not ready for high price FAs yet. Why waste the money at this point? Continue to stink whilst getting your foundation set. Then strike when you’re ready to compete.

I wish my team was doing that.

5.5m seems like a lot of money to me for a 22 year old with limited experience.
Habs taking the Sens approach of locking down their “young core” to rich long term deals that look like a bad investment in a year or two.

I didnt realize the Sabres blog was gone as well. There was almost always a pile of comments in the Sabres blog comment section, it was one of the busier blogs on the site.
