Lots of Leafs cuts today.

Steeves on waivers. Blandisi, Grebenkin, Hirvonen, A. Nylander, Pare, Quillan, Shaw, Tverberg, Kokkonen, Mattinen, Niemela, Pietroniro, Webber and Akhtyamov all sent down to Marlies.

Hope to see Grebenkin get some reps with the big club this year. Nylander was a big disappointment. Can't wait to see how Webber develops. No big surprises on this list.

Just for poops and giggles, I went back to Mike's blog on the signing of A. Nylander, to see what we all said.

https://www.hockeybuzz.co...p?thread_id=188489&page=1

It was a page of people saying "meh", followed by five pages of whether or not the Leafs should trade for Laine, with a little bit of "the Blue Jays' head office sucks" and a little bit of love for the Canadian women's 7s rugby team.

Sounds about right.

I still think Robertson will be a nothing sandwich but I'd love to be wrong.

At the very least, he's upped his trade value.

Or created a waiver problem.

I've seen the great camp hype all fall apart as soon as the NHLers start trying in the regular season , so I won't get irrationally exuberant about him.

Devils "Power Meter" rating is higher than the Leafs.

Must be due to coaching.

Lily to me has been a disappointment. Don't have hopes for him to be anything more than what he is now. Myers has impressed me.

If I had time and wanted to put in the effort I would be pretty interested to see how these meters rate teams and then compare that to the end of the season standings.

I think if I had the will and the time, I still wouldn't understand what the hell they're supposed to mean or why they mean why they mean.

For a dude in his situation, you'd think he would be working his ass off on the ice. He just seemed to be floating last night and was a turnover machine in the dzone a bunch of times.

Myers was good last night, think he's NOT waiver exempt so he would have to stay up and Rifai sent down (I think he's still exempt)

Robertson and Lily for Blake Coleman.

Move out Jarkrok and Kampf for a pick for cap space.

Knies, Matthews, Marner
Patch, Tavares, Nylander
McMann, Coleman, Domi
Holmberg, Lorentz, Reaves
Dewar

Rielly, Tanev
Benoit, McCabe
OEL, Hakanpaa

Woll
Stolarz

Storlarz is going to be (frank)ing awesome. So glad they got him. Big (frank)er. Calm in the net. Great side to side movement. And even has some balls, hacking that dude out of the paint last night and his glove saves against his old teammate were awesome.

There will be some great competition for the net this year between Woll and Stolarz...never mind the Hilda beast down in the AHL heating up.

At the end of the day, Robertson had to have great showing in preseason.
He's done that.
What that transpires to? Dunno, we'll see.
But last year he was about 0.48ppg, which is not bad for someone who played over 40 games and was in and out of the line up.

Does he stay or get traded? We'll see. But he's done his part after a little turmoil in the off season.
