I’m sure the Flyers crack medical staff is on top of Seeler’s foot numbness. Should get better on its own any day now.

If Seeler is unable to play, I would rather see Risto with York than Sanheim. That's just my preference.

Gonna be a tough start. Edmonton and Vancouver are top teams and, at least as of now, I have zero confidence in Fedotov.

Best case, I think they come home 2-2, but I think 1-2-1 or 0-3-1 or 1-3-0 are much more likely. 0-4-0 wouldn’t surprise me either.

big 5-2 win in Vancouver....van goalie is out so that helps them.

Yeah, it’s not gonna be too bad here in the Jacksonville area, but anyone on the west coast from north of Clearwater to as far south as Ft Myers are going to get slammed.

Bill, if Seeler is gonna be out longer than originally expected, is a call up an option considering roster spots and cap implications?

Demko is out for Vancouver. Silvos did look good for them in the playoffs last season but played very little regular season games. I am not sure of what to make of him.

If they need cap space, they could just waive Nic D but they gotta have their designated punching bag, even if he is a 14th forward who can’t keep up with the pace of NHL play.

They should've demoted Deslauriers and carried an 8th defenseman on the roster for the road trip

Agreed. I don't have high hopes. If they come out 1-2-1 I am happy. Edmonton and Van city will cream them if Sam doesn't stand on his head.

Call up would be too difficult to do. You'd have to get whomever you call up on a plane and have them travel to Vancouver and even if they do make the trip there is no guarantee they will play at all. Seeler could be fine by Friday. You dont want to call up a guy like Andrae for instance to sit for a road trip when he could be playing in the AHL.

Not to mention it is just simpler to play the 7th D in this instance. Would have been better to have 8D like Belpedio or something on this trip instead of 14 FWDs though. D mins are harder to replace. Any D you could afford to sit for 4 games if needed.

They dont need cap space. They got the RyJo cap. I klnow Briere said he wasnt going to use the money as it could come back but its 4 games at the start of the season. This isnt going to get resolved that quickly and its a simple fix should it happen.

Knowing Seeler is banged up. Just poor planning by the Flyers.

They likely have more available LTIR cap space with Ellis. They can't use any of the space concerning Johansen. They could get stuck with the full cap and it could add to bonus overage issues.

I don't think so, more then likely I think it be he gets full money but it doesn't affect the cap or he gets what the buy out would have been.

I highly doubt it will be full cap against the flyers

Flyers could claim Mark Friedman off waivers, as he is already in Vancouver. Helps alleviate the need to call up anyone.

Torts did say he would rather go with 5 D on this Trip. So in your mind its poor planning but the team is okay with it.
