Tonight could be ugly if the rangers don’t get it together

I like your ending Jan. If Quick wins tonight, it’s going to start planting a seed of “do we resign Shesty? Just think what we can get for $12million”. I’ve been starting to think maybe NY is better not to resign him.

That's not what I am implying at all. The ending is if Quick wins...does he start again Thursday. by no way, shape or form and I am suggesting we don't re-sign Igor based on how Quick is playing.

First things first - we must extend Quick immediately (Quickly).

Why are we (frank)ing with Mancini? He should be sent down; playing big minutes and not a healthy scratch.

I see what you mean. I will say, if he wins... and starts Thursday, why does Shesty feel he deserve to be the highest paid goalie? If I am McDavid, and I got scratched or even demoted to 3rd line center... and I wanted to be the highest paid player in the world, don't you think that scratch or demotion would impact whether or not I would want to give him that kind of money?

FYI, my opinion is that we should resign him, I am just talking out loud and thoughts that I have been having in regard to the situation.

I would hope that the Rangers aren't going to ultimately make a decision about a 8 year commitment to a guy based on one game either way

All I'm saying is: there is no reason to not extend Quick now.

I agree, no disrespect to Quick, but we are playing the best team in the NHL tonight, and the guy who wants to be the highest paid goalie in the NHL is not in net. He should be in net.

yeah, they've usually been good about those little extensions about guys who want to stay here, it seems like Quick is content to keep signing deals like he's on now just to stay here

I think they just think he is getting more out of practicing with the team instead of being in Hartford

if they send him down and call anyone else up, everybody else needs to pass through waivers to go back down, Mancini doesn't, so I think that's ultimately why they are in this position they are currently

Well, he turns 39 in January. That is a pretty solid reason.

Hey, I'm, thrilled that we are getting such quality goaltending out of the guy, but let's not pretend that this is a long term solution. That's all I'm saying.

Win or lose, gotta think the boys put together a better effort tonight. How do you not against the top team in the league? Need some structure, every so often it’s impossible to tell what our game plan/system is.

7 games in a row of this effort makes me lean towards that not happening. I’d be very happy to be wrong
