I thought Ullmark was coming around with two solid games in Boston and Toronto. This was an immense step backwards. He looked nervous all night

Ullmark’s games against Vegas and Philadelphia cost this team points. I’d even argue that he should have been sharper in the Ranger game where he was outplayed by Igor Shesterkin but the Senators dominated the game, similar to last night. When 3 of the 9 starts are costing this team points, it is not a great situation.

Did the Sens have some defensive lapses? Sure. However, an $8+ mill should be counted on to make a save here and there.

I’d run with Ullmark to see if he can get on his game. I don’t think we have a Korpisalo situation yet, but I didn’t think Ullmark would sub 900 for his SV% in his first 10 games.

The team is playing extremely well in front of him. Let’s hope that continues.

That was a rough loss.

The team looked great outside of the goalie if we're looking for silver linings. Admittedly a defensive lapse or two, but 99% of the time you win that game with someone else in net.

But this was a major missed opportunity to put a winning streak together when they so desperately need to start building a new team identity that things are different than before.

I guess they'll have even more incentive to do so as a bounce back game on Saturday. Not sure who they go with in net.

Personally, I don't throw stuff at the TV. I did curse a few times though.

It's very good that the team continues to play the style that sees them controlling the puck much of the time and winning the shot share by a wide margin. I felt that they didn't bear down on their chances to score as often as they should in the first 2 periods but they certainly did with the two goals OTT scored in the third.

Game management, limiting chances and locking things down (don't allow breakaways or 2 on 1 when up late in a game) are still issues for this team. Goaltending was not good enough as well.

Ullmark is used to playing only half the games in an NHL season. It might be a good idea to cap him at two consecutive games at a time, at least until he fully settles in. A two thirds share of all games played is probably the right target in terms of games for Ullmark in a season. I'd give Forsberg the game against Carolina before going back to Ullmark.

Throw Ullmark under the bus all you want. He wasn't great.

But the "team" blew a 4-2 lead.

anyone else notice that when defending there are usually 1-2 sens players in the middle of the ice near their net not covering anyone at all standing their with their head up their ass.. and every time the oposing player get a free shot at the sens net because it takes sens player several seconds to catch up to them to cover them...who ever is in charge of the defense in OTT absolutely needs to be fired...if there was a stat that showed how many time opposing players were left alone in or near the slot OTT would be dominating that stat hands down.

If you G needs to stand on his head every game for you to be able to win...your not a very good team.

OTT lost this game 100% the fault of korpi err i mean ullmark.
