Seems to me that the best is yet to come. DRW and Stevie preached patience. I am tired of all the rehashing of Y's mistakes. There are just as many good moves he has made, but we have to wait for their full development before they are brought to Detroit.
But then again, I am sure there are going to be some cringe moments to tonight's game.......

I agree there are good things coming. My jaw just dropped at the quotes on X and how it keeps escalating. It feels like there should be a response and feels like silence from the office. People are venting and it’s really the first time I’ve been in this position with the temp way up in the fanbase

Probably not helping that the Lions have gone from worst in the NFL to SuperBowl contenders in a few years. Lions were 3 - 13 in 2021 and are now 12 - 1 in 2024

Fans see this and it might affect their patience for the Wings. Also the fact they have taken a step backwards this season and went from a fun team to watch (because of their offense last season) to one of the most boring teams to watch this season (only score on the PP and their defense is non existent with no physicality or toughness on the roster). I could of went to the Wings vs Sens game on Thursday if i wanted to but no way in hell would i pay money to watch this garbage team. Hell i regret getting the Center Ice package, they are not even worth the money to watch on TV. If Yzerman doesn't wake up and fix this mess next off-season, i will not get the Center Ice package for sure next season.

The team needs a shake up. Did the scenario for a Fowler trade become more plausible as of yesterday?

The Lions (and the Tigers for a big in the post season) are so big right now. I was in line at the store behind 3 people, 3 different orders, all decked out in Lions gear. I’ve never seen anything like it. I did for Sanders and Moore, but not the team. For the Wings, pretty much the opposite. I used to see the logo everywhere. Houses up the road that would do Christmas lights of the winged wheel that have opted out. It’s weird for sure

Desperately needs a shakeup. It is hard to imagine any meaningful player move especially if a player has any type of trade protection. Never say never, but apart from draft picks, top prospects (internally) they don’t have a glut of desireable pieces. If Lyon wants to hit the market this summer he’s an inexpensive backup for a team worried about goalie health down the stretch.

My God, the rebuild has exactly four drafted players over the past 7 top ten picks that are NHL ready, and most are ready to write this team off before their drafted goalies are NHL ready. Sorry, but this is all becoming a downer. When they win, the sky is falling. When they lose, it’s fully crashed. If they give up a bunch of goals per game, their D is horrible. If they give up few but don’t score, the O is horrible. There are 28 NHL teams not in first place and only one team will win the cup. That makes 31 teams absolute losers no matter how amazing their regular season went. It’s a tough league, enjoy the game.

You have well tempered points. My point in all of this was that the feedback I see and get is the worst I’ve ever seen and/or gotten in this gig. I start to write something and immediately delete it to avoid an argument. The other point it, it’s one thing to have incremental shifts, this team has hit a big step back. Though we get reminded of the “pitiful” 91 points, the team was still in the mix through the entire season last year. What we’re seeing should warrant a change (or what we’re not seeing). The point is well taken, the league is at the size where half of the teams won’t make the post season. But they want to add more teams. The tempered overall approach of the vocal fan base is gone right now. I think it’s cumulative, people are unhappy with something else and sports is the easiest and safest place to lose your patience. Yzerman’s M.O. is silence until the deal is done. Rumors are nearly impossible. It sucks to hear people say, “I’m done for the season” or “I’m done until” fill in the blank. Try an experiment. One of the most thankless jobs right now is primary care and pharmacy workers. One year my wife and i bought a Frango gift basket for the staff at our pharmacy. A woman who had never smiled in 2 years broke down crying and turned beet red. It was just some candy. But when we moved and had to transfer to a new pharmacy, I was told by the head pharmacist that the worker had called him and asked him to be good to us. That we were the nicest people she’d ever met, etc. he asked me what we did. “We gave them a gift basket”. I don’t know if people are that wound up right now but it feels like it. I’d love a win and to see this team pull together. They’re fractured and probably not getting a lot of positive vibes, so you’re right in that. Something has to give at some point.

I have followed the Red Wings since 1959, and had season tickets for a few seasons at the Olympia in the mid 1960's. I gave them up during the Darkness with Harkness era. I renewed them at JLA in 2005, and continued them through 2023 at LCA. I gave them up due to my Wife having back problems. Being a fan all these years has had many frustrations, but this season tops it all .

Hey, Blue. You know I enjoy reading the bulk of the posts here. Being a fan of ANY sports-ball team is difficult; there's highs that are amazing and lows that are gut-wrenching.

I don't give 2 ships about the SCPO; I want, and we need, to see improvement. That's not happened and the coaching staff does the same thing every game defensively. It stinks.

We have a BOATLOAD of talent in the "A". This. Team. Is. Good. We're better than this. That's what kills me, we're better than this. I've given up on the staff, the team needs leadership, our defense (outside of Mo & Eddy....), need to play better but Boughner needs to develop a dang game plan. I just don't see that and these kids deserve it.

Again, personally I could care less about the SCPO; The team's worse than last year and there've been some bad moves. Gotta clean it up. Make way for Mazur, Danielson....I wanna see Cossa play (he's gonna be a good one when he adapts to the NHL!), etc....

It feels like Mazur keeps getting hurt right when it’s time to get to the show. It does feel wasteful for Cossa just to sit as back up. The office needs to show fans some nugget of caring about what is on the ice right now (opinion)

I was using Mazur as an example, no doubt there are several kids who can make an impact right now. The future is bright for this team (WHOLLY agree w/H2 on this...). Kapser's been an awesome add, Johansson's done very well, steady defender who's growing into his role....he's going to be a solid addition.

I just wanted to see improvement. We were told the focus was on improving the D; that ain't happenin'. Something has to give.

You're doing an awesome job. It's not easy being a fan and it's even tougher doing write-ups that offer hope AND address the shortcomins of the team AND maintaining harmony amongst your fan-base. But you are doing an AWESOME job!
