"He’s being sent down because he’s a very important player for them moving forward…. And he’s not gonna be down there very long. I don’t believe he will at all.

I do not believe that at all. He is being sent down because the coach doesn't want a "small" defense. Andrae has been more good than bad. You let him work through it at the NHL level. He will be down there a long time unless an injury or trade. Otherwise, no need to send him down.

So why do you say he won't be down there long? what will change?

He is not an important player for them moving forward. At best he is #4 and IMO he will be a bottom pir guy if he pans out long term.

What kind of value does Frost have? Clearly no team has met the Flyers asking price or he would have been gone already.

Hes sent down because of the trade freeze and hes waiver exempt. Torts likes Andrae. If he didnt he never would have got a look at all. Tots had ample opportunity to sit him and didnt until recently

The only reason Andrae was called up was due to injuries. Or else he still most likely wouldn't have seen any NHL action at this point. Andrae should've made the team out of camp. Again a victim of the Flyers incessant need to have safety blanket veterans and Tortorella's failure to accurately assess a young player. Andrae made a significant impact when called up and improved the team. If he was kept out due to taking that big hit and subsequently sent down because they feel he hasn't fully recovered yet. Whether physically or mentally, then I'm fine with it. If it's because Tortorella thinks he hasn't played well, then I'm not. Either way Tortorella is full of crap because he is either misguided or untruthful.

no need to send down as he earned a top 6 spot. to say otherwise would make one incorrect. Merit don't matter in flyer land. You keep him waive EJ. Then have players rotate in and out. This way you learn at the NHL level.

You know torts likes him? how so? he was given a "look" because of injuries and injuries only. so, use some context.

what does a trade freeze have to do with being sent down?

then you would hold him out entirely and not play.

there is no doubt imo he had his bell rung or what not as to why he was out for a few games.

I could see if the other D were playing really good. They are not. It’s looks to me like Torts holds different players to different standards. When a kid plays as well as he did I think it’s fair to give him a bit of rope. Let him make some mistakes….work with him. Sure he had a couple of bad moments and his play dipped a few games …but I didn’t think he was worse the 2-3 other guys. The Flyers record of developing good young D is atrocious. When I see move like this it’s small wonder why.

It’s a contact league ….he’s going to get hit. Him and Drysdale have to learn to play as smaller d. They both have the speed and quickness to adapt. I thought he was fine after the hit.

The hamsters have been replaced!!

What is going on with the Flyers powerplay? Isn’t their crack team of consultants working around the clock to fix the issue?

Same when he benched York after the quick up pass that got picked off resulted in a turnover and goal against. It's a fine line and if the pass connects, it's a transition 3 on 2 for the Flyers. Other players can make the same mistakes over and over and they don't sit. Poehling, Laughton and Tippett routinely make coverage mistakes.

Look at the Velono goal in the recent Detroit game, Drysdale is in deep and Poehling backs up and takes the point. Watch how badly and comically Poehling plays it along with Ristolainen. Yet Poehling never sits. Scott Laughton is the 2nd worst Flyers forward in GA/60 this season. When Laughton is on the ice at 5 on 5, the other team scores 63% of the goals at 5 on 5.

Sam is playing really deep in the net. Swedes tend to do this when their confidence is low . He needs to just stop thinking and be himself.

So far they are playing like the first period against Columbus. Out of synch and little energy.

He is being himself. He is 25 years old. Has numerous pro years experience under his belt. He really hasn’t improved from his Sweden days. Very pedestrian numbers at every stop.

Maybe this is what we can expect going forward.

He really didn't have a chance on 3 of those goals. Brutal coverage.
