No and no. For the Flyers, it is not obvious to sign Marner if you can. They shouldn't

The Flyers need elite centers so......

1. I would not want to spend the 12 plus million for 7 years to sign Marner, and
2. I would NOT under any circumstances trade Michkov for him straight up.


The Flyers aren't at the place yet. If they are going to spend big money on a UFA, it needs to be the right UFA, preferably a top line elite Center. I most assuredly would not trade Michkov for Marner and then have to also sign him to a big money deal.

The ONLY choice is to sign him in UFA, and even then it isn't much of a choice. Trading away Michkov AND having to sign him is a non starter.
