The WFC is not that old. However, this fall it will be as old as the Spectrum was when the WFC replaced it. By 2031, the WFC will have lasted 6 more years than the Spectrum did.

Just coming on to post something similar.

If they are using their money then who cares. So much for maybe selling the team.

Torts on going battle with the media is growing tiresome. I am no fan of the media, but Torts never gets challenged and is lobbed constantly with softball questions. He has the nerve to go and blame the media for the drama around the team. Maybe Torts should put more energy into figuring out why his PP has absolutely sucked for 3 years. Looking forward to when this chapter of Flyers history has ended. Better days ahead.

WFC is old for a stadium, built in 1996. How much do they spend each year to modernize it.

As long as tax payer money is not used to build the new stadium they should build it.

When the CoreStates Center (now the WFC) is was the “House that Eric Built”. The Flyers had a tangible hope and buzz. The Canada Cup opened it and that was suck a great game. Anyway, a new stadium sounds nice. I wonder if Comcast has ordered the Flyers to get on a path to fill the new arena. After all, they’re gonna have to justify all the ticket price increases and food and parking price-hiking that will help pay for it. So like, what… five years to be a legitimate contender and an exciting team?

Torts tactics have a shelf life. Let’s hope it’s coming to its expiration date soon.

Torts went on to say what a great D man Risto is and how he is unfairly maligned by media and fans (not to mention many posters on HockeyBuzz). Bill Meltzer brought it up on X in a tweet earlier this morning. Where’s JD ? And why do we never see Torts and JD in the same Place?🤔

Tortorella on Ristolainen: "You [media] guys hate him. Write all this s-t. I shouldn't say hate. Not the proper word to use in today's world. I just feel he's been under a microscope since I got here." Went on praise RR play from 2nd season onwards.

players who have a not so good past traded for a 1sr+ will always be under a microscope. that's how it goes.

Wonder if this is another way Tortorella tells the coGM not to trade a player

I think this might also mean that the trade talks have intensified. If Torts is publicly defending a player that normally means he wants him to stay. So maybe they are closer than I thought to trading Risto. A man can dream.

For f sake, his contract is up after this season and as far as I know he is not renewing it.

Can we stop being a broken record about Torts. No coach can be successful with this teams talent.

I swear i read the same comment 10 years ago (time flies)! 2015 the Dave Crapstol era. Obviously risto wasn't the important player for the "rebuild" back then.

Are you saying that no coach can be successful developing any of the Flyers young players?

I wonder where they are planning construction?

Plenty of space down there just curious.
