Are we allowed to give Drury credit for the Carrick pickup? Hes been amazing and he signed him for 3 years at a million bucks a year. Thats gold right there

The effort for 60 minutes is what has turned it around for them recently. They still can’t score enough on breakaways which is infuriating, or score enough in general. But baby steps

The schedule will finally ease up now where they can hopefully bank some pts and make up ground they lost vs lesser teams then they’ve been playing. I still look at this team and can’t imagine it doesn’t make the playoffs, but I don’t think making a huge splash to go for a cup is the way to go this year tho. I think they’re better off selling the pieces we talk about and bring up youngsters and let them get playoff experience instead (if they get there). Use the cap space as a facilitator for teams and get a few draft picks/prospects, and start building a better pipeline

I also thought he was only signed for a year. Hopefully what he's done this season is what we get for the remainder of his contract.

Igor did not play bad but he’s the reason they lost. Did not come up with the big save when they needed it

I notice his speed more than anything. But yea, when we kill Drury (ahem
Brukie) for letting goodrow go this is why lol better player and cheaper

I feel the need to defend Drury for some reason but he’s good at finding these bargain basement shopping UFAs. Vesey has probably run his course here, but that’s what I mean. Idk if it’s scouting or not, but how the hell would he find such a random guy like Carrick, and him be so effective in his role(s) is darn impressive

Borgen too is really effective. I know for Kakko whatever, but we needed him and they liked him a lot for awhile from what I heard/read

Cmon man that’s a lil harsh. He kept it 2-1 for longer than it should’ve been and the last two goals aren’t on him imo. Lindgren was weak in the crease on the tying goal, and OT goals are generally difficult to save and Towes wasn’t much different. I mean it just squeezed through him

Carrick has been better than advertised. Its why people hated the Goody deal. You can find better players for 1/3 of the price or just draft them as well. Hard cap league makes everything more scrutinized

That why I said he did not play bad. But he did not come up with the big save when they needed it. Blackwood out played him point blank. Bad rebound on that second goal. $11.5m have to be the best player on the team

Idk I didn’t blame him at all last night. And he isn’t making that yet lol. I do call him out when needed but I didn’t think last night was one of those nights

The team played really well in front of him. You have to make that save on the 2nd goal imo. It was an easy one for his standards.

Overall good signs from the team but it might be too little too late

Hold your horses there, man.
Maybe it's my history as a goalie, but that's is 100% BS. This is the kind of over-generalizing that alienates the guys playing the most difficult position in team sports. We lost in overtime, meaning every single player who didn't score on every single decent scoring chance is every bit as much to blame as Igor is.
Is that a save he wants back? Absolutely. Just like Trocheck wants another chance to hit the net instead of slamming the puck off the glass. Same for about 10 others.
We win as a team, or we lose as a team. Period.

Nah there is plenty of time. They just need to win games they’re supposed to win now. No more excuses, they passed through a really difficult schedule the last 20 games or so. They can’t lose to Chicago at home as an example. The teams vying for the wild cards aren’t necessarily world beaters. 7-8 seed is the max tho, they aren’t getting top 3 in the metro

I’m watching these game stress free. Like whatever happens, happens.

Maybe saying the reason we lost bc of his is a bit much, but you want him to make the big save when needed. Thats all.

Laf and tro have to capitalize on their chances also. Laf going through what happened last year

Yes def stress free games. I do not think they should be buyers tho. Have a similar TDL to the caps last year

You are eternally the optimist and I forgive you for that!!!

You even dragged me to being optimistic last year...But it wont happen again!!

Yes Carrick seems to be a good pick up but lets see if he does it in the playoffs like Goodrow did, Goodrow was brought in to be a playoff performer, not regular season guy, we have Mika, Panarin and CK20 for the regular season!!

For the Carrick signing you forget about the Wheelers, the Pitlicks, the Boninos, the Gustafssons.

Sooner or later one will finally pay off.

Im not mad at Drury for the signings, Im pissed how he handled the Goodrow and Trouba situations which had a super dreadful impact on the team.

That's the most hideous stuff I've ever seen and it has nothing to do with the Rangers. It's just branded with Mike Tyson saying "kiss" across it and looks like a coked up autistic kid designed 99% of it

Yea agreed

I still wonder about Lindgren tho. I’m not so sure they trade him and instead re-sign him, and I gather this place will go bonkers if they do 😬

Rangers value him more than the fans do imo. Especially with all the glue that’s already left the org, with Trouba and Goodrow

Like suppose he got 3 years / 4.5 and is the 3rd pair LHD. And not the first pair LHD. Is that a happy compromise for fans? I don’t think Lindgren wants to leave either which is probably beneficial to keep his AAV low enough where it isn’t too bad

Seigelman Stable had a nice collab with the Rangers/Knicks also. You have to be into that type of clothing

Lindgren Smith Vesey and should all go. Borgen is 50/50. Miller kireider zib are summer discussions most likely. Lindgren would have been resigned this offseason if they wanted him long term. One year deal was pretty telling imo
