Chicago is a disgrace. Remember when we feared them??

Well, my mikko fantasy is done. Maybe in the off season??

I look at what they lost but also what they traded of high picks. Dach and Debrincat. Not sure what comes next but Jones apparently available according to a couple people. That salary is a bit prohibitive

Carolina weren't willing to pony up the 9 mil a year last year to sign Guentzel after trading for him even though he had 25 points in 17 games for them and 9 points in 11 playoff games. Will they want to pony up the 14 mil a year or more he is rumored to want for Rantanen? I doubt Rantanen will want to sign with the Wings even if he hits the market though unless the Wings are willing to pay more than anybody else.

I don't see the Wings getting much if they decide to sell at the deadline. Kane has some value but his NMC negates a lot of it since he chooses if and where he goes. Lyon might bring in a 2nd or 3rd round pick since he is on a cheap contract. The rest might bring in mid to late picks at best (UFAs anyways).

Unless the Wings trade one of Larkin, Seider, Debrincat, Raymond or Edvinsson, i don't think the Wings have anything to trade that would be worth a 1st or top prospects.

We might see a hockey trade that isn't buying(rentals) or selling but i'm not going to hold my breath for that. Yzerman should be trying to set up for the off-season trying to unload some dead wood like Copp, Chiarot and Holl and maybe even Compher.

Personally i only want Cozens if Copp is going the other way in the deal or they can keep him or peddle him somewhere else.

If i was Yzerman i would be trying to ship Holl out to either Chicago for Murphy or Nashville for Schenn although neither would be a 1 for 1 deal, the Wings would likely have to add a pick or prospect. If you can't move him then just buy him out in the off-season because he needs to be gone.

I would try to move Copp and Chiarot to anyone and even retain some salary if needed to get rid of them.
