Fancy stats mean nothing. Fox has been, and has looked slow and uninspiring.

Before Shesty’s new contract kicks in they’d be wise to trade him.

I’d trade Kreider for Frederic in a heartbeat (suggested by someone in a different blog)

It’s the same situation we have been in and we have a chance to remedy, but it will take time.

The draft should be the focus: identify the top draft teams 1-5 and trade before the NMC kicks in for Fox, Laf and Igor. Build around Gabe and his teammates that have energy and spunk.

Trade Kreider to Capitals- they are in this year; grab Leonard in return.

Finally ship Mika out West to Ducks for Zeigras - writing is on the wall and he will go.

Build the right way, look at Miko in Fa and insert youth each year.

Drury - out. Valiquette can do better with his eyes closed. Messier or Subban are gems to be used.

Lacy, we know is out, we just want it now. Drury screwed up by getting nothing for Knoblach and now we sit back- even let Jessica Campbell go as well. Need that diamond to develop- tough one here but would defer to advisor Messier.

Time to shift, trade away FA, lindgren, KA Miller, Uko, Smith, any draft pick is better than nothing.

Is that a joke

They still have plenty of games to make up ground. Last night was their mulligan. They are only 4pts out of a playoff spot with a game (s) in hand.

They just need to play with more urgency and passion. If they don’t? Well more guys will have played their last seasons in NY.
There is a lot of players on this roster who’s NYR days may be numbered regardless, but especially if they miss the playoffs

If anything, the rest of year they can determine who the passengers are and aren’t. For now they should call up Othmann and Berard and play them in the top 9 somewhere. Scratch Smith til he’s traded

100%.

The facelift is happening now (this year), next offseason will be the boob job and maybe some Botox in the ass

Drury isn’t going anywhere tho, Jmo. Lavy yes, I’d be surprised if he were back next season unless they put one hell of a playoff run and playoffs together. Like 2 rds he needs to win imo.

Yea..in hindsight, letting Knoblauch go might have been the biggest mistake they’ve made.

Funny, some of us have been saying that for years.

I dont want this team to make the playoffs, with their compete level, they will be one and done.

They do mathematically and on paper with the players they have, they could but the team needs a heart to show a pulse and this team has no heart.

All the pending FA should be traded but the picks they bring back will be nothing more than 3rd rounders.

Any other trade should be a hockey trade since they arent going to tear it down.

You could say the same thing about Ottawa, Boston, Islanders and Detroit tho. None of them look particularly great all season. CBJ seem to have moxy and maybe a leg up on the wc contenders but there is still one other spot to be had

They can get there but when they get there what happens is the question. But I get it, it’s very hard to believe in them this year for a million reasons

Det and Otta are rebuilding teams while the Piles and Bruins are teams on the decline. With the Bruins Mcavoy for an extended period their chances are a bit worse.

We have seen it in years past where this team was playing well and just fell apart, imagine making it playing as they do now???

I’d see if WPG would be interested in a Stanley for Lindgren swap.

Some guys post all these stupid charts, just like Tom did.. I admit I don't even understand what 90% are even saying...

But if people can't see how bad Fox has looked since his injury, I don't know what to say. I'll rely on my eye test every day of the week. (frank) analytics!

Lindgren and Smith provide depth and veteran/playoff experience.

Fox needs to play less minutes, that’s ultimately the problem with him. But he won’t because he makes almost 10 million dollars. He gets exposed because he plays 23 minutes a night when in reality it should be under 20. He’s tired and it shows pretty much every game

Charts are just a small tool. Fox has good underlying numbers but eye test wise he’s slower and less physical than he’s been.

On the flip side he’s on the ice for majority of the rangers chances for so that’s a positive. Data just isn’t the end all be all. Tells part of a story. Some folks just push it as the full narrative

That being said any player on this team should be available. The GM and coach should easily all be on the hottest of seats
