The team still looks rusty, passes were in the skates a lot, stupid penalties, no one seemed to know where their linemates are...just not sharp. Hopefully they can clean that up. Petey looked better, should've buried that partial breakaway but shot it over the net from three feet out.

Stellar as usual

RT saying the obvious & beyond me why they neither listen or just play simple hockey. Rip it

Far too slow to decide on anything & makes no sense. No anticipation to speak of, telegraphing passes. Lost out there hoping somebody scores or goalie puts up a bagel. Boring low event hockey

They are finally going to trade Pouty. This will be a fresh start for the organization. The future is bright

I think both he and the organization needs a fresh start. I just hope the return is minimal.

I've had a full glass of haterade with this whole drawn-out Pettersson debacle. It's time for change.

Thanks York,

Love the RT comments on Mancini. Looks like they will trade out some vets and play the kids.

Anyway, another game of close but not enough. Who would have known that without QH the offense would suffer?

πŸ™ certainly sounds like momentum is building towards an EP trade. Hopefully retention isnt required

Sportsnet

We've talked about he has to move his feet, and can't double clutch (with the puck),” Canucks coach Rick Tocchet told Sportsnet Sunday night after his main press scrum had ended. β€œI think he's waiting for something. I don't know if it's a lack of confidence in his shot, but as soon as he has room, he's got to take it and . . . just got to blast it. I'd rather him just rip a puck right now. He's not moving his feet. I thought today, some shifts he was moving his feet and it looked like we had some glimpses. But six-on-five there at the end, it's the same thing, waiting. If he just takes three or four strides . . . I don't know if it's a mental block right now, all year, but he's got to move his feet.”

When we asked Pettersson whether confidence is a factor when struggling to score, the alternate captain said: β€œIt's more annoying dealing with the media.”

Only a matter of time πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Honestly, I don't know why he'd want to stay there. They basically forced him to sign his deal by publicly shaming him and threatening him with a trade. When he wanted to be a Canuck. All the while there were clearly dressing room issues he was dealing with, probably why he was so hesitant to re-sign. They lied about his knee and his wrist issues, that I get because it decreases his trade value if they were in fact thinking of dealing him.

Anyway, they overpaid the kid and they've basically killed his game, it's just a mess on so many levels. Which is not out of the norm for the Vancouver Canucks organization, it's been happening for most of their 50 something years.

Call the whole situation whatever you will, the truth is he's been mishandled on many levels. Kinda reminds me of Pat Quinn offering Bure a contract in Canadian dollars.

Yes, that would help, just easier to change managent than ownership.

I hear you. Been following CBJ and Ducks the last few seasons. Hard to turn off the switch to Canucks allegiance though.

Could help, but honestly at least JR and PA keep things somewhat interesting. The Benning years were so damn boring and predictable
