If you lose to the Sharks tonight you may as well pack it in and sell off at the deadline.

You're not wrong.

Sens have 3 games coming up. 2 against really bad teams. They have get 4 pts in those games to justify making moves at the deadline to ADD players.

Right now the Sens are 4 pts out. If my the end of weds game they are 8 pts out, they should sell.

Problem is, they don't have much to offer, UFA wise. Giroux has value but sends a bad message. Zub? Any number of the UFA 3rd or 4th liners could go. Forsberg, maybe.

Ottawa Senators Playoff Games (before Playoffs)

March 10th - at home vs DET
March 13th - at home vs BOS
March 27th - on road @DET
March 29th - at home vs CBJ
April 6th - at home vs CBJ
April 8th - on road @CBJ

These games are 6 critical games.

Sens play CHI, MTL, BUF, PHI 2 times each for 8 total.

That leaves only 9 other games (including tmr @WSH) left to play.

Sens don't travel further than PIT or PHI. They have a GREAT travel schedule left. There's no reason why this team shouldn't be in it until the end.

At this point it is literally one game at a time. All are winnable, all are lose-able. This team can't look ahead to see its schedule. At this point it is simple .... win your games. Whomever they play is not relevant. Just win and take care of business. I always find it odd to look ahead and decide what you have to win ........ strength of schedule. Just go out and win.

I understand your thinking, but the games against CBJ, DET, and possibly BOS are critical games - that are not only games but measuring stick games for the Sens. CBJ & DET are fighting for a playoff spot just as hard and are trying to develop their teams / take the next steps towards consistent playoff teams. So these games really do matter much more than say games against WSH or COL.
