Why do you think a 12 year 30 year old vet like Risto has upside?

Have any teams inquired/called the Flyer about Travis Konecny or Ersson?

Why are we hearing total opposite things on rr -- Eck says they are getting calls and Kurz is saying there is not much interest

Today it’s Risto…. But in the Future it hopefully will be a more mature and experienced Drysdale.

Who to Keep? If you buy into the whole rebuild argument…. Then you keep Drysdale…. With out a doubt… if the Flyers want to continue to slow play this process… then you actively try and move Risto…. Actively as in ASAP.

Jackie Spiegel: There are teams that would love to add Flyers forward Scott Laughton for their playoff run. Flyers GM Daniel Briere said “We are not actively shopping him.”

Is this blog serious? I don't even think it is close. Drysdale all day. Since coming back from the injury he has looked like the guy everyone was hoping. And at 22 i still think there is more. The snipe the other day against the Jets is more of what I want to see and I think we will.

He is getting moved.

Honestly I have never been more sure. There is absolutely no reason to continue to keep him. They say he is great in the room. You know what happens when you move him.....you let one of your younger guys step into that role, like Cates or Forester.

If he has solid offers and doesn't move him then Danny should be fired. That would be complete mismanagement of assets on a team that is closer to a top 5 pick then a playoff spot

The Room™ is needed to keep the room culturized -- Culture® is more important than wins, points, or the playoffs

If they trade The Room™ there is a real good chance that the organization will implode

I am curious who finds Laughton more important. Torts or Briere.

You know one thing I am disappointed in. I really thought Briere, knowing the history of this team, would come in with balls and do this thing in his image. Be aggressive, be creative, create a new path for this team to bring them back to a contender.

And maybe there is still time.

But I still feel like moves are still moves that we saw in the past from Fletcher. Half moves where you can sell it as a win if it works out but it really wasn't a hard move to make.

Put you stamp on it. If it fails it fails. But stop keeping this team in purgatory.

I think the bean counters take precedent over the hockey guys. Its doesn't take a genius to understand what this team (or any team) needs to do to give themselves a chance to win it all. Just looking at the teams who have been good, and won, since the cap era began tells you all you need to know.

I asked a few years ago if the Flyers front office and Comcast have/had the stomach for a true rebuild. I don't think they do.

If they did they would have let Hextall do it instead of re-tooling

Agreed. But I asked it again when the triumvirate took over to see if they had learned the lessons. For a company that has more money than God, and a franchise that considers themselves the "gold standard" they sure do half ass everything.

I think this a rediculous comparison. Risto and Drysdale are two completely different defenseman, and teams need both types in order to compete. I would instead compare York, Andrae and Drysdale and ask who would you keep and who owould you trade.

I do not think Comcast really cares in the sense they let their hockey people run the show. For better or worse. Flyers are a drop in the bucket in Comcast global big picture. A tax write off.

It comes down to the people running the team who think they are smarter than everyone. They truly IMO do not think they need to tear it down. They 100% believe their way will get them to where they need to go.

One is a top 4 defenseman with good trade value. 2 look like bottom pair defenseman at this time with very little trade value.

A team doesn’t have to tear it down they just have to be bold. This management group is doing neither.

Pettersson is available. Brandt Clarke sounds like he will be available. Jiricek was available. Florida got Reinhart for about the same as the Flyers got Ristolainen. They got Forsling on waivers. Washington leads the conference after accumulating other teams castoffs. Tanking isn’t the only way but the other way is too scary for most GMs.

I am of this group. I don't think you need to tear it down completely but you need ot be aggressive. This year I would be selling off players. It is not a cup year and I have a lame duck coach. Get a top pick and then build from there.

I would have moved Konecny over extending him. Maybe in that package I would have got a youngish center to build with like Buffalo got when they moved O'Reilly and got Tage Thompson.

Not ever team needs to follow the exact blue print, but you need to have some conviction in what you do. The Flyers lately are a team that is trying to thread a need through a very tine hole.
