We need Ras back, with Copp out. Maybe a team will give a pick to take on a contract for purposes of cleaning cap space to make a trade, ala Marc Staal from the rangers a few years back. I keep hoping for Toews to sign.

I think you didn’t mean Husso, in your article.

"Daniella Bruce reported that Todd McLellan said Ras did not take contact at Monday’s practice and he won’t be available for Tuesday’s game. Rasmussen has been sidelined since February 23. His health will play a factor at the trade deadline. If this is going to be something more long-term, Yzerman could be forced to make a move for depth. There is also the possibility of moving up a prospect such as Nate Danielson, which is definitely possible. I do think that the recent slump for the Grand Rapids Griffins plays a role there, and since they’re already missing Marco Kasper and Elmer Soderblom, I would imagine Detroit’s front office would like to keep the Griffins in a good position and not totally empty the cupboard and leave the AHL affiliate in an even worse spot than they already are in."

Kinda the same thing I have been saying here about using the "kids". Y would rather let them play more in GR and help that team. But the high cost of acquiring another player may force him to bring up a "kid". Last minute pricing may be cheaper on Friday, we will soon see.

Per SG1, Husso’s already gone. Everything I’ve heard regarding Toews is a lot of hesitation due to health. His ability to travel the world to all the different treatments likely saved his life. He may want to play again, but this isn’t the time of season that you want to test that. I think he may be best off going into retirement just for longevity sake

GR certainly lost some of their better producers (Kasper, Shine, Soderblom) and I hope they’d look at Lombardi before Danielson. Regardless, the market is just brutal. Prices will probably come down (if they do). In the final hours before the deadline. Teams feel really emboldened to ask for a first and/or a top prospect.

Add the Bruins into the mix being “willing to move” Coyle and Zacha but no movement clause for coyle and 10 team no trade list for Zacha may be issues: https://www.prohockeyrumo...ie-coyle-pavel-zacha.html

So much to unpack here, as well consider 2d & 3d order effects of any action taken.

H2 has been pretty vocal about tempering call-ups from GRG in favour of letting those kids attempt a deep play-off run. His stance makes sense. We also don't need to spend to the cap for rentals.....but it's not like we can take it with us 🤷‍♂️

If Ras is out longer-term, we could be in bad shape. Toews, for me, is a non-starter - his life literally hangs in the balance. Kane is going to pay a price for playing after resurfacing, but Toews could die. Not worth it. Just my opinion.

SO, what the heck do we do?! I would consider a move for someone who could have a positive impact over a longer period of time. My thoughts are; Cozens, Zegras (I know, I know, I know....tough call, kid COULD be special...). I'd entertain Gudas, say what you will about him but he changes the dynamics of a game when he's on the ice. There are some others, but in the interest of brevity (NOT my strong suit!!!).....Moves are worth entertaining. An in-depth risk analysis would need to be done. Postures the team long-term? Entertain. Fills a short-term gap? Think hard.

Comes down to whether or not we're done in the 1st round or can we make a bit more of a sustained run. Teams in the east are fumbling the ball a bit, so who knows.

I'll be at 35,000at 3pm Friday, but am buying interwebs access so I can track moves. Teams are gonna get hised, and some will be buying a nice Cohiba in celebration. The Captain needs to get his Wings Mind Trick dusted off and fleece some unsuspecting suckers to push us into contention. Time now!!!

Coyle has a NMC through 2025-26 with a three-team no-trade list, per PuckPedia. Zacha has a 10-team no-trade this season that drops to an eight-team no-trade for 2025-26 and 2026-27.
Usually an NMC is coupled with a full no-trade clause, so Coyle's NMC is confusing.

I would like either one to join the Wings, Colyle may actually be less than a 1st.

If either are willing to come, worth a look. Intra division is a tough sell sometimes

I would love GR to have success. However, IF a player is ready the NHL is the goal. There may be 2 or 3 guys that could slot in. I don’t know. Tuomisto and Lombardi are the two I keep going back to. But, not my call. No blood thinners for you tonight!

Coyls's NMC is confusing, and I don't know if this article got it right:

Coyle’s Struggles
Neither player has had a standout season, particularly Coyle.

The 33-year-old has recorded just 14 goals and 21 points in 62 games, a significant drop from his career-high 25 goals and 60 points last season. Despite averaging 17:39 of ice time per game—the second-highest mark of his career—Coyle has struggled to generate scoring chances.

His 1.45 shots on goal per game is the second-lowest rate of his 13-year NHL career, only ahead of his rookie season with the Minnesota Wild 12 years ago. He is also on track to post a career-worst -13 rating.

These struggles make a trade unlikely. While Coyle has a three-team no-trade list if he waives his NMC, it remains uncertain whether he would agree to leave his hometown team, even as the Bruins enter sell-off mode

Pavel Zacha Emerges as a More Intriguing Trade Candidate
In contrast, the 27-year-old Zacha presents a more intriguing trade candidate.

Zacha ranks third on the team in scoring with 12 goals and 37 points in 62 games while averaging 19:23 of ice time per game and serving as the Bruins’ de facto No. 1 center for the second consecutive season.

Since being acquired from the New Jersey Devils in 2022, Zacha has averaged 0.69 points per game with Boston.

His contract, which carries no trade protection until July 1, makes him a more attractive option on the market. With two years remaining on his deal and a $4.75 million cap hit, Zacha offers better value than most other available centers.

Standing at 6’3", Zacha is a full-time center with strong faceoff numbers, winning 54.2% of his draws since the start of the 2023-24 season—a notable improvement after spending much of his career below 50%. This sets him apart from other available centers like Ryan Donato or Scott Laughton.

“Teams may ask about Lyon, which would likely force Husso into a backup role.”

I’m guessing Jeremy meant to say Cossa, not Husso, as Husso has been an Anaheim Duck as of a week ago?

Yes. I apologize for the mistype.
