It’s not a surprise their scoring is down without top talent. That is no QH and Chytil is no JTM. Any mistakes where they can’t keep the score low to zero means no chance at winning right now.

Yes there are players like Boeser and Debrusk who need to contribute and EP40 has picked up his play but still not dominant.

It's still well below full capacity, 3700 feet, but it's made significant improvements regarding water level in the past year.


Current Status:

As of July 2024, the lake's elevation is at 3,586 feet, more than 60 feet higher than early 2023 when it reached a record low.

Aquilini won't allow this imo. I'm kinda hoping they'd just start over but all indications are that's a non-starter with ownership. Which I understand, given they were so bad under Jim Benning they don't want to go back there for another 5-8 years.

I went to watch the Canucks beat the mighty Flames in Cowtown last year. Was truly a miracle on ice performance. Lots of Canuck jerseys in the stands, they really have a strong following there. If Hughes plays anything can happen.
Flames have their own Hughes coming, Zayne Parekh breaking all kinds of records in the O.

I think a lot of it boils down to luck. Rest Hughes and Demko, Lose the rest of the season and hope to get a top 5 pick (1oa would be nice) and then compete next year. Trading boeser/suter would have made this easier. Could have used those futures at draft to get pieces to win now.

I would like to see them sign bennett, but I doubt he comes here unless we over pay.

They'd have to overpay Bennett, and the Canucks need some high-end skill... Bennett hasn't cracked 50 points in a season ever, let alone on a pretty great Panthers team. Doubt he's reaching that on the Canucks.

Would rather them overpay for Marner to get some actual scoring.
