I am sure Dustin Wolf will have something to say about this. If the Flames make the playoffs then I think the Calder is his.
Do you really think even after Hutson retires that team USA will still have him Ek? |

EK was pretty clear about that
There will NEVER be another Team USA that doesn’t include Lane Hutson
They will carry his urn on the ice in 80yrs... |

He set a record for points by a rookie defenseman in Montreal Canadiens history.
The most points scored by a rookie defenseman in a single season for the Montreal Canadiens is 64 points by Chris Chelios in 1984-85.
Lane Hutson has 53 points.

So if the statement was different, Eklund would be right?

Better story? I've enjoyed the Canucks drama this year. |

I watched him and most of the Habs skate circles around the Sens last night. He's very good. A young Erik Karlsson perhaps. He is going to be better defensively than EK.
What's the word on the other Hutson? Is gonna be any good? |

He's really really good but not there yet defensively. He would've been eaten alive in the 4nations games. Hopefully he starts to improve his defensive game and grow up a little bit, until then he's just an amazing offensive talent, which is certainly not a bad thing.
Eklund you've had quite a few of these bad takes with respect to getting all caught up in the offensive point totals of players rather than their actual effectiveness on the ice.
I live in MTL, I think Hutson has generational talent, but Celebrini is 10x the more valuable player right now. His game is actually so solid for such a young kid. In fact, I would take Celebrini over Bedard. |

Yeah a Rookie Goalie playing as well as Wolf is? Tough position to play that young.

All NHL defenseman is a stretch. He’s a special player with a long way to go defensively. Montour said Stephenson called the play in that 5 second OT loss when he saw who(Hutson) was out there.
