Great game. Good to see guys step up with the captain out. Ullmark is phenomenal and Greg was a force. That block at the end was huge.

Pinto breaks a goal scoring streak and the Sens just beat one of the best teams going and potential playoff matchup. Big win.

Not the worst thing to have your goalie on his game when you're making a playoff push. Not to mention while missing Brady.

I do agree this team can step their game up and make things easier on him though. Lets hope they do.

It would be such a poetic story for this team, new core, first time making the playoffs, exorcise those past demons.

I grew up a Leaf fan and like many in the Ottawa area slowly switched over with the birth of the Sens. So, I do have some sympathy for the long term anguish and suffering of Leaf nation.

But, it is time for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to face reality. Leaf fans know in their hearts that this version of their team does not even remotely resemble a Stanley Cup contender. We all understand successful playoff teams are strong down the middle, go four lines deep, are sturdy on defence and talented in goal. They play hard physical hockey and succeed by giving up less goals than their opponents.

The Leafs have great regular season success because they are able to outscore their opponent. However, in the playoff paradigm we talk about goaltending, defensive play and shutting down the other team...not about being able to outscore them.

The Leafs would be the best team for the Sens to draw in the first round of the playoffs. I don't know if the Sens have enough juice to beat them in a first round matchop...but they will have enough swagger and jam to scare the bejesus out of most fans of Leaf nation.
