It’s super unlikely. If MTL goes 2-3 and finishes with 89 pts, Rangers need to go 5-1 to tie and win most in regulation/OT for the tiebreaker.

This 1st rounder will be interesting. If it ends up top 10 I’d say keep it, otherwise there’s no way I’m risking giving Pitt a better pick next season. That would be tough to see.

The rangers haven’t won 3 in a row since November. No point in figuring out how they could get in now lol

Right now it looks like we pick 13th but depending how the next 6 games go, 10th is a possibility.

very true. According to this money puck site I stumbled on Rangers have an 8.4% chance while MTL has 84.2%.

Yea, at this point they’re better off just losing out. Get into the top 10 (maybe top 3 with lotto) and pretty much guarantee big changes. Lavi should be gone immediately.

Let's suspend belief and say both are possible, do we want this team to make the post-season?

NO

The worst part about this whole thing is it being Sam Rosen's last year. They can't even score on the PP anymore and he can't even say his famous line "It's a Power Play Goal" anymore. Maybe they can get at least another 2-3 in these last games so he can say it.

The worst part for me about this season is that our team was relatively HEALTHY throughout the season! All of our "top players" played the majority of the games, yet we still STUNK and truthfully don't deserve to make the playoffs...

considering the expectations, I'd say this was the worst season of my lifetime, and I go back to around 1978 where I can vividly remember watching games

I think it all depends on how confident do you feel about the front office, if they remain in place, retooling the team to compete next year?

You can easily fire the coach, but how many better options are out there? You can trade some guys, but a good chunk of your older "core" guys have some form of NTC/NMC. How realistic is it to move them on? Then how many younger players can make the jump to the NHL full time to improve the team? Finally, how much $ will you have to play with this offseason in free agency?

Personally, I hate the idea of giving up an unprotected first round pick going into next year, regardless of the high end talent level. Way too much can happen to turn a playoff team into a lottery team. Plus, if you are competitive, that's one less asset you'd have to trade at the deadline.

I think if its pick 10-11 or better, you have to keep it. If its 12-16, I'd probably just give it up and take the medicine.

At this point, no, I do not want them making the playoffs. I think the coaching staff needs to be replaced, and I think certain veterans need to be evaluated and decided whether their toxicity is more of a hinderance in that locker room more than they are a help. In my opinion, there are a few players who showed efforts on a consistent basis, but as on all teams, success is contagious and when others around you struggle, there is a great chance you will as well. It's really unacceptable as most of this squad was here last year when they were in the ECF. You can only put a certain amount of blame on the coach and their staff.....and even the GM. At some point, as professional players, you need to be held accountable for their actions on the ice. Even Jan made the point that with the last 3 coaches, it was a good season, followed by a poor season, resulting in a coaching change. After a season like they had last year, how is this acceptable to anyone in the organization? I feel bad that Sam Rosen is going out on a season as such. The fans and he deserve MUCH better. Just end this season already and let's work on preparing for next season.

This team lived off a great powerplay and goaltending for almost a decade. I think they were always a little overrated due to expectations. Finally we see what they are when the powerplay falls off. Why this summer has to see much more turnover if we are serious going into next year

I cant see much turnover unless some players agree to waive.

Laffy, CK20 and Key could be goners. Mika would have to agree to waive. Panarin isnt going anywhere.

What do you think?

Kreiders body language shows he’s already gone.

I think Mika gives a few teams he’d go to and Drury either retains a few mil to get a decent return, sends the full salary or minimal retention for peanuts, or takes back another bad contract.

Key has been declining for 2 years since his 43 point season. He’s not worth a raise, but I do think he can get back to where he was trending with the right coach. Gotta take $4M though.

Laf will be here next season.

Yeah...Kreider left the day after Drury publicly put him on the trading block. Kreider wasn't even on the ice for the bro-hugs after their last win.

Key Miller has Goodrow's agent. They are going to ask for a multi-year deal well over $5M per. Just to tender the one year RFA status, he's going to receive about $4.25M. me thinks I would have to walk away from that.

I don’t see how an arbitrator would look at his performance and recommend more than the $3.9M he’s making.

Key is third pair left defender ,CK20 is done, not by his doing, you don’t just quit without being told you aren’t coming back, Mika should be gone, but he has control, so maybe not, panarin isn’t going anywhere unless we get a haul, then it depends. If you can’t see its management then you probably are stupid, because it’s Dolan.

Listening on the radio, Kenny Albert just said Tampa hasn’t scored a pp goal in 4 games, not even 2 seconds later Kucherov scores
