Power is one of the guys I'd definitely check in on this summer. I havent looked at his stats to see how much we'd have to pay, but we finally have some assets we could use to at least tempt them.
Rangers fans are really down on him right now, but maybe a buy low option would be a K'Andre Miller? - SuperHenderson13
Keandre miller would prob be a good 2LD. He would by default be our #1 left dman. Buffalo is absolutely stacked at all positions and can’t put it together, I would be calling them on repeat. Terrible owners and management, maybe they could be swindled. I like the power/samuelson pair mentioned last blog. That would revamp the whole D. 2 solid UFA forwards and we might have a team. |

Finally feels like we've established the young player to NHL pipeline again. Obviously we dont have the high ceiling prospects other teams have, but if we can add a few young guys to the top 9 and top 6 defense, that's more money we can spend in key areas and more draft capital we can leverage to get higher end players.

and RIP to Ray Shero. Didnt see this one coming at all. When you see how long it has taken other teams with young generational talents to start winning, he got the Penguins off to a great start building a stanley cup winning team within 2-3 years. |

I've seen a few places say he had an aggressive cancer. |

Damn…wasn’t that old.
He had some ballsy trades. Hossa was pretty epic. Wished he stuck around.
Kunitz was a home run move.

I’m glad to hear the Mcgroarty top line winger experiment is over. Koiv seems like he’s much more up to speed. I think a faster version of what Kevin Hayes is right now is Mcgroarty’s ceiling. |

Koiv is definitely the more intriguing prospect through the small sample size. I can see McGroatry developing into a slower Michael Bunting in time as he gets his feet under him and the game comes to him but he clearly has more development ahead of him before he’s a lock on a contending roster. Koivunen already seems like pretty much any NHL team would probably have a spot for him in their lineup somewhere |

Yeah seeing how things have played out in Edmonton… nothing is ever guaranteed. The immediate fallout of the Shero/Bylsma era was kind of to back credit Patrick for that Cup but man there was plenty of time for Shero to (frank) up a lot of things and he didn’t. |

Definitely Patrick deserves some credit. Shero closed the deal with some nice additions and fired a coach that lost the room. Bylsma was the right coach at the right time.....like Sullivan. Kept him too long.....like Sullivan.

Yeah. Hopefully he actually puts pucks in the net and the story doesn’t become “Al though he isn’t putting up tangible offensive”. Followed by loads ofBS |

He’s such a willing shooter I legitimately believe he will. |

My favorite Ray Shero trades:
1. Jarome Iginla
2. Marian Hossa
3. Chris Kunitz
4. Jordan Staal
5. James Neal
