According to reports, the Swedish prospects might not be able to play before the end of the season for the Griffins or Red Wings, as the organizations are still trying to figure out how to fit their names on the backs of their jerseys without having to use size 3 font.

Just go full horseshoe. Start at the bottom on the left and arc over the number. It’ll be grand.

Hopefully Yzerman is ditching the yzerplan and will start using the same plans As the Canadians and Senators use. Starts with making smart trades ( not trading Walman and a second for nothing). Removing players such as Holl and letting rookies who deserve to play get the right opportunities. Kasper would have been in the rookie of the year consideration if the Lalonde and Yzerman would have played him correctly from the start. Kane needs an offer now he has played extremely well since the change in coaching and deserves to be rewarded with a new contract. Yzerman will wait to free agency like he did with ghost lose him and replace him with a down grade. The red wings pro scouting staff should be fired immediately. Worst in the NHL.

Montreal blew up a team the summer after making it to the Stanley Cup finals, so obviously they had a lot of assets to trade. Ottawa hasn’t had a rebuild since the 90s. They are just a team that most good players don’t want to play for so they develop them, lose them, rinse and repeat. The two teams you want Detroit to model their rebuild after has a combined 8 more wins than Detroit this year.

I think, to be fair, draft and develop is still the heart of the plan. No we’re looking at 4 or 5 possible guys, some from deeper rounds, that are knocking on the door. The stop gap agents have been pretty bad. Debrincat was a good acquisition, Kane has been a huge boost, Watson plays a strong role (when they let him) but the D pickups I can live without. I think the big issue last summer was the $ debate waiting for the official cap# and then talking %. I hate that it took all summer but it cost us Ghost (opinion) as he wanted security and guarantee and Detroit didn’t have the numbers in place for Raymond and Seider. This summer is a bit different. Those 2 are core guys. I don’t see the same issue coming up. Kane has some bonus $ coming off of next year’s books, but if he wants back I hope they get him for one more season. Let Copp hit waivers, buyout Holl, Petry is expired. If Mrazek gets beat out in camp move him or waive him. Let Cossa grab a spot if he’s ready and that may help w Augustine. Would love to see Chiarot go and IF they sign a free agent bring in a top pairing D for Mo or at least a top 4 player. Trade may be the preferred route for that as UFA prices may be a little nuts

Update: Jacob Truscott from U of M has signed a 2 year deal with the Griffins. Last March I’d written about him telling Vancouver that he wasn’t going to sign with them in an article (ironically) about wanting Augustine to sign his ELC. Here’s the quote from last March: On the U of M side, Jacob Truscott (Port Huron native) told VAN he won’t be signing with them a few months back. I have to think Detroit has at least taken a good look. We’ll find out soon enough.

It took a year, but Detroit was definitely watching!

I said that as a joke just letting people realize how bad a job Yzerman is doing It is embarrassing to hear people say that after 10 years the rebuild is still continuing. If you told the fan base 10 years ago to not expect the playoffs for a decade or more most people would realize you then do not have the proper people in charge. Yzerman was a GREAT PLAYER but like Gretzky does not make you a great coach or GM. I lwas super excited when he got the job but now realize is a great scout and drafter but has no idea how to build a team. Any one that continues to play Holl should not run an NHL team

He hasn’t been GM for 10 yrs. He came in 2019 after building a Stanley cup team in Tampa. A job he took in 2010. Calling him “subpar” is ignoring that. Let’s see what the drafted prospects do as they should take up half of the roster or there about by next season. Has it taken longer than most want? Yep. But he also had to get rid of almost the entire team with Larkin, Ras and Berggren left at this point.
