If anyone has any comments or questions, let me know. I am the Mike Hoffman mentioned in this story and this is my office's reception desk. My wife still thinks the fact that we had to go to the Wachovia Center to "pick up a desk drawer" before a game is still a classic line.

Excellent story Mike!

Can't believe that you got the desk and the story for a bargain!

It's great that somebody who knows and appreciates the history of the desk now owns it.

Do you think if you acted like a civilian instead of an attorney during the traffic stop you could've avoided a whole lot of hassle?

What do you have against Bob Kelly?

Very cool piece of furniture nonetheless.

A Civilian? I am a civilian, as I don't work for a governmental entity. Attorneys just happen to be human, too. I tried to be straight with the officer, and help him do his job the best he could. Ultimately, he was the one who took it wrong and acted wronger.

Nothing against the Hound. I like him, but he didn't ASK he just SIGNED. Its like the scene in Indiana Jones and Last Crusade . . .

I think so. Its awesome, and a discussion piece.

Imagine that an attorney nickel and dimed a charity for 75 bucks.

Though quite the piece of memorabilia, I have something better. I picked up a 1.39 ebay auction of an autograph of Daniel Marios. My favourite Leaf as a kid. Can't be old #32.

I'd let any player from the Cup teams sign anything they wanted.

It is very cool.
