Exactly... trend continues: Nashville 5 - Chicago 2 |

I'm calling a solid performance tonight with a W, but revert right back to form on Thursday with a shellacking from the Rangers. |

Hmmmm core or near core players. Here's how I see it...
If you say Kane is a no then cross him off. Toews is untouchable. Hossa is untradeable with his contract. I can't see Keith or Seabs. Maybe Hammer but he's hurt. Maybe Sharp but he's near 30 and they would need to add a bunch of prospect. Could it be Bolland?
JJ - Can you give us a guess in terms of what you think it would include. |

I'm going for a new personal best of 1.5 periods. Gotta aim high. |

Interesting that, of all the issues discussed (Defense, Goalies, 2nd line C), they're in for Nash? Are CHI looking to score their way out of their current issues? |

I think CBJ would want to get a top defensman back. LA seems like the natural trade partner IMO. Jack Johnson, Jonathon Bernier, Jarret Stoll and a pick or prospect for Nash and Mason. |

Unless it were Kane, I wouldn't do it from a Chicago perspective. Those other core guys play a style that I like more than Kane. Unless Kane starts to take a regular shift at center I would think that he would be the player from the core that the Blackhawks could stand to move first. |

I don't like the idea of Nash to CHI. Hasn't management learn their lesson with crippling contracts like this? If it's for Sharp fine, but nothing more. Even then Sharp is kinda playing better than Nash the past couple years. |

a reptuable Kings' blogger mentioned that a similar package had been discussed a week or so ago, except replace Stoll with Brown, and the Kings had said no thanks. for what that's worth. |

Tend to agree. I think they would be a little better off addressing the issues from the back to the front. |

Sharp has great cap value, I wouldn't want to move him if I were Chicago. |

I think LA would probably try to keep Voynov to replace Johnson. I guess it depends how much hardball Howson is willing to play.
You could probably throw Gagne in there as a throw in for good measure. |

Nash would give the Hawks added physical presence below the circles and help a struggling power play—without question.
Hawks would also need to find a d-man at the very least somewhere else.
They spoke with Columbus about Nash well over a month ago, so he has definitely been on their radar as a player they covet and feel fits what they want to do, FWIW.

maybe pulling nash out of cbj is just part of a another deal for a team without the right pieces for cbj but has the right pieces for chi. we get nash then send him off to somewhere for a top 4d, some skilled grit and a promising keeper.
it just seems odd that the hawks would take on an almost 8mil cap hit for the next 5 or 6 years. |
