Good win for the Preds. They needed that, but they're looking eerily similar to the Preds team that started the season as opposed to the team that went into the All-Star break. Pekka is saving this team's bacon. I witnessed the Boston massacre first hand and I'm amazed that the Preds came away from that game with a point. Ottawa was a zero effort performance. This team still has a long way to go before they get back to pre-All-Star form. Hopefully last night's win will serve to jump start the guys.
It would be absolutely amazing if this team could go into the Joe on Friday and end the Red Wings' streak. The attitude seems to be there. What a boost it would be going forward. |

Morning everyone. Since I am a Preds fan living in Chicago, I got a lot of looks yesterday sporting my Preds jersey walking around the city. Amazing stat I saw yesterday of the Preds being 13-2-2 against the Central Division. That is pretty incredible if you think about how good our division is this year.
Paul - In relation to the Rads story from earlier, do you know if he was as really close to Web and Suter as the article made it seem? |

Boclair is an excellent journalist, so I have no cause to doubt anything in the story. I know that Rads did not get along well with certain members of the team when he was here and those players are no linger in Nashville... |

3 shots on goal in the 3rd period is pathetic!!! Hell, Fisher even passed on the empty netter! Lucky to play the Hawks when they did. |

I think Smithson's time is near its end.
I'll go for the youth movement. |

I think the Preds took a lot of shots last night, but they were very inaccurate. I remember thinking, at one point of the game, that last night's shot accuracy was about as bad as I'd ever seen from the team. Fisher missed a wide open net in the first, and there were a few other chances like that which went wide.
I really think it's the accuracy, not the actual shots that needs to be addressed.

Look at the salaries -- Chicago is not cheap in the pipes. Crawford's cap hit is 2.7m, I think. And he was good last year.
But it is a problem for them now. They play like a team that has no faith in its goaltending, and that spreads like a virus. |

You probably got all those looks because the city folk couldn't figure out what sport you were promoting.
Speaking of bandwagon hawks fans: thanks for not knowing to act like boisterous jack-asses last night during the national anthem. Your respect for our country was refreshing.
And--I agree with the blackhawks fans that were on here yesterday...your team played with no heart last night until the 3rd period. I thought the calls for coaching change were unwarranted...until last night, that is.
Oh, and when I saw Emery in net, I knew we would win last night's game. That team can do better than Emery.

True, 14 missed shots including 4 scud missles from Smith. Suter had a nice snipe but maybe Craig needs to find what curve is on Hossa's twig. Marion was the only Hawk that played with a mean streak last night. He is a stud!!! |

Oh man I hope so. Smithson had one decent shift, but was invisible the rest of the night. He and Legwand both were all but absent.
As much as it'd suck sentimentally to see the Preds first draft pick move on perhaps there's some value there as part of a package? |

It seems like he has lost the energy or drive he used to have. I can remember him flying around and hitting (or trying to hit) at least one guy per shift during 5 on 5 time. I just don't see that any more. Also, the PK is not what it once was. Maybe he can turn it around in the last stretch, because I like the guy. |

Wasn't the first draft pick....Leggy was. None the less, he is a great heart and soul guy so it would be sad to see him go although it could rejuvinate him elsewhere |

Errr... If I were on the receiving end of that I don't think I'd be too happy. |
