It is now 10 hours since it happened.......... I am still in shock
The Leafs have a few problems.
First and foremost, the goaltending we have is not gong to do it. We need immediate goaltending help.
The defense continues to struggle at times during the game getting the puck out. Can't pinpoint if this is a problem with the D struggling to clear it, or for the forwards not cyclying back deep enough and winning those board battles.
Nonetheless.......... 10 hours, I am still in shock.
Dear God in heaven, I see the playoffs slipping away. I have forgetten what a playoff game with the Leafs looks like. Please God... help my beloved Leafs

Hopefully we have no part in Nash if the believed asking price is true.
Carter could be a good fit for the right price. Alot of the criticism revolves around his contract length as it should, but the cap hit is very reasonable (5.2). Especially compared to what we may have to potentially pay grabovski (5?).
As far as chemistry goes, I actually see it being a good fit. Sure Kessel has a tremendous shot, but his passes lately have been just as lethal. Maybe Carter won't be feeding Kessel, but Kessel feeding Carter. Now throw in Lupul to clean up the garbage and we have ourselves a dangerous first line.
Definitely a deal for Burke to consider. Especially if the new upcoming CBA allows an amnesty if need be.. |

I'm with you...I am completely lost...IMHO the coaching is a cluster f#@$...offesnsive defensemen cant free wheel cuz they are afraid...forces them to be defensive which is not their strength...goalies are coached to stay deep...forwards are getting pushed around...meanwhile Wilson says after a loss he thinks it was their best game...start with the coach and move from there.. |

I Love Grabo, but let's be realistic here. Carter has always been a force and is younger than Grabo... |

I'd rather have Carter anyway: we need to improve at centre not wing. Kessel-Carter-Lupul sounds good to me. |

this this this
get a damn goalie burke
the leafs are top ten in scoring.. the problem is keeping the puck out of their own net.
last night.. 3 soft goals.. leafs lose 4-3
those goals dont go in, the leafs win
hell.. the OT goal wasnt even on net!! gus defflected it into his own net |

Too much risk with that deal.Sign grabs move out some deadwood vets and let the kids play.Carter isnt the player that will lead this team to the promise land and with that contract Patiance is key it will get better |

The complaint about Carter is his contact! Personally I think 5 mil is a bargain, and the length just makes it get better and better! My concern is his attitude, and nothing more! We could defiantly use him! Also, love Grabovski but not at 5.5!! Take the prospect and pick!! |

Theres a good chance that we lose Grabo for nothing... Why not swing something to land Carter?Esspecially considering the rumoured price for Grabovski.. $5m? $5.5m? I don't know.. Swing a multi player trade including Mason. Maybe the kid just needs a change? |

Things are not looking good on the Grabo front... In 2 weeks, the reported asking price has gone from 4 to 4.5-5... And now we are hearing 5.5/yr.. Yikes! Give me carter for that price... Anyday!
Grabo has been good, but not lights out.. Either he is hot, or cold...
Nash. No thanks. That is a serious price tag. Lindros type price... Not a chance. |

i am always hesistant getting goalies who thrive in defensive systems.. halak didnt do much til hitchcock arrived, and he did well in montreal
its sort of like bryzgalov in philly.. once he was taken out of tippet's trap system.. he was easily exploited.

Personally, I couldn't see them moving Halak anytime soon. This is Elliots first really good season.. before this year he was back and forth from the AHL |

not enough, they would trade elliot before halak
and as for carter he would be a complete upgrade
as long as he comes cheap
