Frustrated by the lack of moves but more frustrated by the fact that an organization that won a cup two years ago can be described as in disarray. You would think a championship after all those years would help bring the organization together not rip it apart. |

It's funny, that last line you had, "ugh"...that's right up there with "No doubt when motivated they can compete or beat anyone, it's just when they don't (which is way to often) they are as easy to beat as any team." from rowoc0 that some up the 2011-2012 season.
Oh well. Hey if the pk improves, and the pp gets hot? You never know |

remind me again on how this clown is a GM? - JoeHawks88
He sabotaged DT with the RFA snafu, smiled as DT took the fall, and waltzed into the GM chair with a s hit eating grin on his face. That's my opinion only.

I posted this in the other thread-
Hawks are miserably soft and weak.
I LIKE Johnny Oduya a lot as a player. HE WILL HELP, but he's not enough.
Since Bowman couldn't address our needs in the trades...Rockford should provide some names to add grit, snarl, toughness.
-Andrew Shaw-Hit a wall, but when he was on, he was good...he drove the net, finished his checks and would fight. If he's replenished, he should get a look
-Jeremy Morin-Our top prospect. Isn't the skater of Stalberg, but good enough and is scrappy, gritty, will get to the net, even drops the gloves. His talent is undeniable, he has a bit of experience and can add to the areas we lack
-Brandon Bollig-JJ's boy. I youtubed a fight he had with a Kassian dude (not the Canuck player). HOLY SHEIT...Bollig is no joke. Can he skate/play good quality 4th line in Chicago? If he can, bring him up now. We have to have SOMEONE out there that can hold these punks accountable who run our guys
I heard the Canucks and Sharks made moves today, because they did not consider themselves TOUGH enough. The Sharks are the same team who beat us down like little boys a week or so ago. And THEY didn't think they were tough enough.
If the Sharks/Canucks are not tough enough, then what are the Hawks? Besides a candidate to be moved to a non-checking league.
We have some in-house people that can give our team some grit and edge....we didn't MOVE any of them so lets let them play and provide something invaluable the Hawks seriously lack.
Bollig has to at least be somewhat better at skating and playing hockey than John Scott, which immediately would justify him being called up.
Morin and Shaw are both players who are gritty, both will drop the gloves, both are solid defensively (although Shaw was sloppy at times in Chicago), both forecheck, both will get to the net...Morin is our best prospect and Shaw was outstanding before he hit the wall.
Adding those 3 players alone, even if they don't score big points will immediately make our team harder to play against, we should have improved net presence and better in the corners and with the forecheck.
Roster spots are easy to obtain. Lets do it.

Hope so, but knowing our panzy GM, the answer would be NO. He'll have to call someone up. Tazer, Kane etc. are sitting ducks now with Big John gonzo. |

What I have been saying?? The StanBow "I like our team" presser right on schedule.
C'mon there was never going to be any deadline trade to save the season with the negative trends this team has established this year.
1. Can't bounce back from poor losses...poor loses beget more poor losses.
2. Listless....subpar efforts vs weaker opponents.
3. Special teams play that has just killed them all year.
But Stanely loves his team and yet they might finish with less points than last year's edition!
Gee and I thought all the players loved Q?
Did you say the Hawks are the new sad sacks of the NHL?
But I agree with you on Scott...Rangers got ripped on that one!! |

Please stop with the conspiracy theories. It's 3 years later and there's nothing to be gained by it.
Only thing that matters going forward is how this team does the rest of the year, can't dwell what did or didn't happen at the deadline. Time for the coaches and players to earn their money.

You got the wrong guy on who was the saboteur. Wasn't Stan.
JJ's article is pretty spot on about the analysis of the hockey piece, and in general about the organization (no idea about the specifics, he's closer to it). Oduya will help, but he can't help enough. LA, VAN, NSH all got better. Maybe SJ got better. And it's hard to argue that the Hawks were better than any of those 4 to begin with. |
