Bob played well. Coburn and Carle ... not so much.
Get a win on Tuesday and this game will soon fade from memory. Let's go Flyers.

I can't get on the offense or the team too much here. Everyone is focusing a lot on defense with Timonen, Kubina, and Meszaros being out of the line-up, and I think it is wearing the team down a bit. I'm sure the offense will pick it back up soon.
I'm glad Lavi went with Bob last night... It was a game set up for disaster. Better to let Bryz keep his confidence high going into a really tough strech.
I heard Bundy say last night that Voracek may be ready by Tuesday, and he also thinks that a couple defenseman could be back. Didn't say which ones, but getting Voracek and 2 defenseman back would be huge.
It's really nice to see Rangers and Bruins struggling of late. I know we have had our troubles with both, but I would rather go into the playoffs with the Flyers playing hot, and those teams struggline for wins... |

all in all I thought the Flyers looked like that lacked that extra step or jump.
The Devils didn't give the Flyers much and the Flyers didn't do much to make it hard on the Devils.
Let's see some jump on Tuesday and for the Flyers to take care of business on home ice.

New Jersey's solid (albeit not very entertaining) performance
Yeah were the team not playing entertaining hockey last night... I didn't know scoring goals and winning wasn't entertaining. |

If NJ sits back in the 1-2-2, focusing solely on defense, they are labeled as boring.
If NJ forechecks as a 5 man unit, sporting more 20 goals scorers than any other team in the league, with their defenders consistently pinching, they are labeled as boring.
Guess the only way NJ can be exciting is to allow the other teams to win.

Our games tend to be more exciting when we play a team that actually shows up. If you want to point fingers, point them at Philly. NJ had plenty of jump. |

I watch a lot of Devils games. Last night was typical of the slow-it-down, clog-up-center-ice approach you guys play.
Honestly, you guys win with it ... so congrats. But please let's not infer that it's entertaining hockey.

i meant the way the flyers played was boring....im sure for devils fans it was exciting to see new jersey play that well. For us it appeared that our team came out a little flat...
ps stop trolling you know your team will soon become "le quebec Devils" lol...for a team doing so well your barn seemed empty. |

Then you would know they fall back to the 1-2-2 less than most other teams in the EC. You want to see "old school devil trap hockey" go watch the Rangers play a game or two. |

Im not gloating. Simply pointing out the Devil's curse. Boring, despite their game plan. Besides its a slow day at work and your attendance jokes are entertaining and original. How could i possibly leave? |

The Flyers were outplayed by a good margin. The Devils were suitably fired up for a division game and the Flyers were not. That said, the Flyers are still 7-3-0 in their last ten games and seem to be getting re-enforcements coming soon.
They didn't lose because of goaltending, they just lost. Get ready for Tuesday and serve some revenge. |

I always thought the attendance at Devils games is more of a reflection on how difficult it is to get fans riled up after a state-named sports team, as opposed to a local name.
If you guys were the Atlantic City Gamblers, or whatever, and played your games at the shore it would be much easier to identify with locally, and develop a stronger fan base. The more local a sports team the more passionate the fans, imo. |

They were all at home preparing their costumes for St Patty's day. It is a very big event in NJ. It's understandable. |

There's nothing in the rules that say you cant play a certain style. Until that is changed it really is irrelevant. Good teams find a way to win games no matter how a team plays. |
