as usual, nicely done. Cant disagree with much here other than i dont think philly will pull off a game 7 win in pitts. If it gets to 7 then I think pitts gets through...
same for ottawa (not that you had it going 7) - i just dont see the Rangers losing game 7 in MSG
Nyr in 6
Bos in 5
Fla in 7
Pit in 7
Not sure about Florida but that's the only upset I potentially see happening, only because Florida might be one of those teams that's overlooked and if Theodore gets hot could I stress COULD upset new jersey. Ottawa has a better offense I think with karlson but lundquist is too good, Boston will steamroll the caps and it's a toss up between Philly and Pitt but the penguins have home ice so I'll take them.
First person I saw pick the Flyers. Good for you. Dont buy into the Penguin hype. The Flyers depth matches up well against Pens, and that is before JVR comes back...
The way I see it our checking line of Talbot, Couturier, Rinaldo will match up to the Malkin line... They have been good at shutting down the top line of other teams, and did well against Malkin previously. Plus Byslma doesnt seem to mind this match up.
We know Byslma will put the Staal line on the Giroux line. I am ok with this match-up. Staal's line isnt the kind of line that effectively shuts down Giroux.
That leaves Schenn, Briere, Voracek line and Wellwood-Read-Simmonds against the Crosby line and thier 4th line. Briere is the highest scoring playoff preformer since the lockout, and the Read line may look unimpressive on paper, but both Read and Simmonds are hovering at the 25 goal mark... Not bad to match-up against a teams 4th line.
So I agree with the Blogger. Flyers in 7. If the Flyers can hold Malkin, Crosby, Neal, and Letang to 1 goal or less a game, then Flyers in 5.
Wow, the first person (non-Flyers fan) I've seen pick Philly to beat Pitt. I don't mind the underdog role, but it's nice to have at least someone picking Philly to win.
