"On the downside, the injury bug hit Z hard...."
You could use this for half of the top prospects this year. |

More than half.
The CHL should have cancelled the season. |

Well, the OHL cancelled the season on certain players when they hit other certain players... so its similar. |

Brian, doesn't Dallas have the 13th pick? I do think this guy would be a nice pick for the Stars as they really lack depth at center in the organization. |

This could be a very interesting draft to look at 5 years from now. - Lahey
Let's look at it...
Yakupov - concussion, groun. Missed a good 25 games
Galchenyuk - knee, missed the season
Reilly - knee, missed 3/4 of the season
Maatta - concussion, Missed 10+ games
Girgensons - nagging injuries, missed 10+
Wilson - nagging injuries, missed 10+
Koekoek - shoulder, missed 2/3 of season
Subban - nagging groin injuries throughout year
Marcantuoni - concussion/shoulder, missed 2/3 of year
Pelech - knee, missed 1/3 of season
Maidens - concussion, missed half of the season
That's just off the top of my head. |

Hudds I mentioned this Smith's blog and I wondered if any scouts felt the same. Does a guy like Pouilot get passed because of how good his team was? |

To an extent.
hen guys play on stacked teams you have to figure out if he was riding shotgun or if he was one of the reasons. I think young players coming into those situations benefit from that development wise, but in Pouliot's case, he played a big role and really excelled at times. I'm not a big believer as I think he's more of a second pairing guy, but he has some tools.
That being said, teams will have guys focus on teams like this to judge where the impact is coming from-- the player or the team. I can tell you watching London that Maatta was a big part of their success, whereas Athanasiou wasn't. |

Another Pouliot (M.A.), got picked too high because he played with Sidney Crosby and someone mis-evaluated his offensive ceiling. I think those players are the toughest to call. |

The Sabres are probably gonna take Zemgus is hes on teh board at 12. We need center prospect depth in a bad way. |

I don't see him slipping past Carolina. They love themselves some Kitchener boys.
And Rutherford/Burke/Holmgren are the only GMs to go see Kitchener live this year.

He won't slip. I have him low in my list, but high in my mock. |
