The only player Other player I'm ok the oilers takin 1st is galchenyuk. We have solid d in the system. Murray probably won't be a difference maker. We need more high end centre depth. Galchenyuk is a better pick than Murray if you want to pass on Yakupov IMO.
Edit: difference maker next year I meant |

I hope and pray Howson is going after Galchenyuk! We need center depth far more than anything else on offense. And with Nash trade looming, we will hopefully get some wingers in return. |

With all the mock drafts going around right now I hope someone keeps score and can tell us who was most accurate. Something to post next Monday??
Thought that Henrik Samuelsson might make it on there somewhere... |

Clb pick seems to me to be largely contingent on the Nash return which is likely why they want to convince move him sooner rather than later. If Nash brings back high end offense, you take Murray. If Nash brings back D, take Galchenyuk or Forsberg. |

How do you figure? Columbus needs D badly. At center you have Brassard with Jenner and Johansen on the horizon. Down the middle you guys look real solid. On D is where I see tremendous void. I mean the cupboard is bare right now with who on the horizon Moore maybe Olson and Goloubef if they can pan out.
I'd think that if Murray is not chosen #1 then he'd almost be a shoe in for Columbus. |

Johnson, Wiz, and Murray would be a solid top-3 for the future.
How do you feel about Nash deal:
Nash + Methot
for
Jamie McBain + Tuomo Ruutu + Zac Dalpe + Zach Boychuk + 2013 1st
Get another young top-4 D, Rick Nash lite, 2 good Center prospects, and a 1st. |

Johnson is a #2 guy I think. Wiz is more of a #4 because he does struggle quite a bit in his own end. Methot is a solid #3-4 guy as well. BJ's are missing that #1 guy. Murray may not be flashy but he is supposedly ready for the NHL as of next season.
Not sure what happens with the Nash trade but if it does not go down today or tomorrow then it doesn;t matter who's on the board becausde you have no idea of the return.
As for that trade no. I don;t think that's enough of a return personally. I think BJ's have asked too much from other teams like the Rangers but that deal is not enough. |

I can't see why NJ wouldn't forfeit their first rounder this year if they aren't intending to draft a goalie at 29 overall. There are three that have been suggested as first rounders (Subban, Vasilevsky, and Dansk), and it seems to me that NJ retained their first rounder this year in order to replace Brodeur by drafting whichever of those three that remains on the board. |

Doubt the Oilers are taking Murray, I think they will take Yakupov then turn around and trade away Gagne and Hemsky for some defensman or a goalie. |

There is no way Yakupov slips to 3. If by some fluke Edmonton does not take him then I am pretty sure Columbus would. I know the whole Filatov thing but he's too good to pass up. |

disagree entirely, sir. people are saying Murray won't be a difference maker because he's unlikely to put up huge offensive numbers. but he's going to be a guy who for 25 minutes a night will shut down the opposition and allow his team to control the game. that's a difference maker to me. i don't think the Oilers have anyone in their system like that. |

I dont see Frk going in the 1st round and the fact you left Lindholm out of the 1st round is a real head scratcher. That kid will be gone before the 20th pick goes by. |

It would be amazing if NJ finished bottom 5 or bottom 10 the next 2 years. Would love to see thus bite them in the butt. |

Mr.Smith,
Can you please tell me why some people have Forsberg in the top 5 and others say he's nothing more than a solid third liner. |

I find it insane and absurd that anyone would pass on Yak just because they need help on D...
People do realise teams can address their needs through trades and free agency, and not just the draft...right?.........RIGHT!? |
