I don't think One Leafs fan expects a big splash other than maybe some grit guys. Which is good, no stupid signings.

You mean like paying Parrenteau 6 million for 4 seasons? What's not to like??

*12 years pass*

Burke: "We fully believe in this group. We're not as truculent as we should be, but we really believe Marty Brodeur Jr is a #1 goalie in this league, last year he had no support as our defenseman were picking their teeth out of the glass each night."

I like all of the above apart from signing Clemmenson. I think that I'd almost rather roll the dice on Reimer/Scrivens rather than signing any of the UFA goalies available. Any help here will have to come via trade I think...

By one bad month you mean February, March and April, right? Aka 40% of the season.

Should not be so negative. Doing nothing is, in fact, doing something. Holding tight on the existing roster is a good start.

There's two ways I see the goalie situation:

1) if the goal is to make the the playoffs, sign Clemmenson
2) if we're looking more at developing Reimer and Scrivens...let em have the net and sign/trade for no one (in goal)

haha I do think they are not as bad as they finished, but really that is obvious.

They just need a #1 goalie/centre, Big top 6 winger & another defensive d man..... Oh lord OK, I just depressed myself. But if they are able to get 2 of the 4, they will make playoffs...........

Doing nothing to a roster which allowed for a 26th overall finish is called screwing the pooch...

I agree, for development purposes and giving Frattin, Kadri, Colborne a chance/spot...100%

But Burke's mandate is out of whack and he's too desperate to prove he can "fix" Toronto fast.

The most depressing part for me is when I look at the teams from 1999-2004 and think of the pieces they had...this team has as close to NONE OF THOSE as you can get and those teams STILL didn't accomplish anything.

"Tell my family I love them" *pulls trigger*

A good start is jerking off in the shower before heading to work. Doing nothing to a roster which allowed for a 26th overall finish is called screwing the pooch...
