Snagging Colby Armstrong for one year, at $1, 000, 000... Who's going to complain about that?
Me.
Always hated that (frank). He's a yellow who's game diminished considerably since the NHL took away from him the only thing he was able to do properly : skate 25 strides and deliver a blindside hit to an already out of balance opponent.
I don't care that he now wears a Habs' jersey. I still hope that piece of poop will get his ass handed to him. |

While the Bulldogs will welcome some good talent this season, they will still be a young team.
They acquired a great AHL goalie yesterday, that is certainly a step in the right direction.
Also, Galchenyuk cannot play in Hamilton at the end of next season, he'll be 19...technically he would still have one year of junior left, which makes me say he'll never see the AHL, making the jump straight from junior. |

Nope, he's not even able to do that anymore. This might come as a shock but he's complete poop. I'm sure there's some on here that love him now though and think it's a great deal. But let's be real here, 2 years of patching in games and I can't think of 1 time he did anything good. Though he did get that sucker punch by Eager and that started a flood of PP goals. |

I like the deals for Bouillon and Armstrong. If the habs falter and are missing the playoffs again then they have two good rental guys to deal at the deadline for prospects or picks. Teams like to add depth at the deadline.
If there are injuries to the NHL club the young guys may earn a chance to jump in. |

I really don't understand that signing. Sounds like Dudley hasn't been paying very much attention while he was part of Leafs' direction |

I suspect you can thank the coach, more than the GM, for wanting Armstrong and Bouilion. |

It's a low risk depth move. Nothing to call home about.
If he works out, he could be traded at the deadline.
And just to think the leafs will pay him the same money to play for us is nice.

Let me get this right. By adding 2 fourth-line players (overpaying for Prust for 4yrs, Injury Armstrong) and old man Bouillion (hey, look..he's French!)....the Habs are going to make the playoffs?
Still the same old same old in the top 9, which won't cut it. Jagr would be a slight upgrade and pot 40 pts if healthy but let's be realistic folks. Price is the only the reason Habs win 30+ games per season. |

Yeah wasting a roster spot is great when somebody else is paying him too. That would help the Habs quite a bit. |

Leafs paying him 1 million not to play for them = Good value
Habs paying him 1 million to play for them = Not good value |

I'd rather see the same grizzled vets fail one more year and get a good pick.
edit : Amrstrong fits well on Gomez's wing |

I doubt Bergevin is done, but then again, I'm not expecting anything big either. I'd rather see them rebuild properly than trying to throw money everywhere. They still need a winger for Plekanec... |
