Yesterday the Nhl and Khl signed an agreement to continue their non infringement of each others contracts for another year. In theory this works out well but we will see.
I think a lot of this was a way for the owners to close doors as far as options for players in the event of a strike during the coming season. I dont see it working though, come November when players are restless a few or maybe more than a few will return to Europe to play. Some will surely sign with the KHL, with an agreement to return to the NHL when the strike is settled. But will they? Will they all want to? Lets say a mid level russian hockey player or two want to stay rather than return for a half a season. What then?
Mark my words, in the event of a strike its gonna happen.

That's a big concern with a lockout. Also the NHL was likely worried that the KHL/SEL and so on would offer two year deals.

Yes. 2 years 6.5, hope a real coach and a new environment can change him. Fact is he will always produce the goals and make plays, he needs a change like Sergei Kostitsyn who really matured under Barry Trotz. If he poops the bed...well at least he'll give you 25-35 goals even if he's a lazy female genitalia for two years.

Hmmm, that's an interesting little tidbit about Slepyshev you brought up. I thought for sure he'd be a 2nd-3rd round guy. So do you see him getting drafted in 2014 then?

Easily. If he continues to develop as well as he has so far. He'll likely be in both WJC's and the captain in 2014.
