This is the type of trade that keeps Boston always competing for a cup...

boston fans don't like the deal but...

heinen wasn't great at anything - just kinda there.

at least Ritchie can increase the teams grit and lay some hits.

unlike dirt bag backes, he can actually play the game still

I love this deal for Bost. Makes 1/2 the money Heinen does is a monster of a human & they take far longer to develop. Ritchie is still 2 years from hitting my breakthrough for monster class forwards of 400 NHL reg season games. Great skater, hard hitter willing fighter if required & an RFA when this deal expires 2 years from UFA status.

Leafs should have done this deal just to keep him away from Boston. He'll be a good fit there.

Fair trade for both sides in my opinion.

I really like this deal for Bos. Ritchie is just scratching the surface of his upside and potential. Monster forwards take far longer to develop & only 1/2 the cap hit of Heinen. Still an RFA 2 years from UFA status when this contract expires.

Other than a Top 6 guy to play with Krejci and Debrusk they needed some toughness along the boards IMO. this solves that Problem, maybe Heinen can pick up where he was a year ago or so, wish him well, but I'm for the move all day long

Not sure how this is a bad deal?? I mean Heinen was ok but never going to get much better. Who knows with Ritchie. Good size and hands...

Good trade for both. Ritchie has all of 8 goals this season with 2 of them coming last night against Vegas. Dude has pretty good hands, but has a real knack for bad penalties in the offensive zone and doesn't really bring the effort every night. Maybe he just wasn't held accountable enough in Anaheim. Still, his presence was kind of stale and it was time for him to move on. Offensively, Heinen looks like a similar player stats-wise, but with a higher cap hit. Given the salaries, this is also a good deal for Boston, but I'm not hating this as a Ducks fan.

He’s young, can play, his advanced metrics on a bad Ducks team are good.

And he’s the best heavyweight in the league.

Heinen was a bottom 6 that show potential but never showed any development. They have 8 guys just like him.
