Blues Shopping for a D-man
Krug’s injury is not a great one for the Blues…Rumor is they are now shopping hard for a top[ 4 D, and could reach out to the Flyers again regarding Sanheim… |

Would love to see this happen - but if its being "rumored" it ain't happening! Armstrong is better than that - u'll never see or hear it coming! I hope I'm wrong on this one. |

Army never lets stuff like this leak. Might be from a different gm that said he spoke with Army about available defenseman. Just guessing. Or as we all probably think, he is looking for one now and this is an educated guess ha ha |

Armstrong did try to trade him earlier. If the Blues go in with the same defense it’s going to be a very long season. Binnington has not played well the last few seasons but his defense in front of him has been terrible. |

Bennington reminds me of Murray, sorry to say haha. But the Blues should go at Hanifan. |

I don’t know if the blues have traded with Calgary since the Brett Hull Trade in 80’s ha ha. It might still be a bitter pill there haha |

Blues will play Perunovich if Krug is only out for a bit. They have no cap space to acquire anything of significance! |

What happens when he inevitably goes down due to injury himself? That’s why you shouldn’t rely on undersized dman. Vegas won with huge defense so did the Blues in 19. Why get these tiny guys that are smaller than they are listed as. |

Wholeheartedly agree , biggest mistake Armstrong made was letting Petro walk. Then trying to replace him with a 5’8 dude. All to save $2mil. Bad bad managing. |

Sanheim would only cost picks, but the Blues would have to give up salary to make it work. Or the Flyers could trade you Sanheim & Ellis LTIR contract and then there's no need for any movement other than picks. |

Don’t get the “ u'll never see or hear it coming” and “Armie doesn’t let stuff leak” comments.
There were tons of reports weeks in advance of the 2023 TDL that Blues had talked to teams about ROR, Tarasenko, Accari, Meier, etc. There were several tweets and reports at the time from insiders that Armie had low-balled Pietrangelo and refused to up his offer despite the Josi contract. |

All that cap stuff I can’t wrap my head around. I’m a fan of the game. I watch the games and go to hem when I can. I don’t do the cap stuff. Through s me for a loop I can’t find a way out of ha ha I get the basics but ltir and all that other…………. nope. How could the blues take on Ellis and Sanheim with Ellis going on ltir. It saves the blues no money. They’d have to have a contract traded back to Philly. |

Bad move. Let your captain walk over little salary per year and a nmc well you signed Krug to a ltc and for just under what Petro signed for. Army is thinking of the future too much I think. He made a mistake with the Binnington extension I think.I like Binner. Don’t get me wrong. I think the defense in front of him has been terrible. Jbow steadied Parayko in ways we could not fathom. |

Okay. You have a point. But for years you never heard anything from the Boues regarding rumors about deals. That just became the expected normal. Agents letting things go is how it has happened. Armstrong really doesn’t talk much about things he is or might be trying to do. He can’t control what other people say |

A couple thoughts:
-Krug's $6.5M on LTIR isn't for the whole season. So you can't just magically add Sanheim or some other $5M+ player because you still need the space to activate Krug once healthy. Unless there is another CBA agreement I'm not aware of.
-so the Blues likely just make do without Krug. He's not that good anyway. They still have Parayko, Faulk, Leddy, Scandella. And they will just give Perunovich more time while Krug is out. It's not a great defense, but it wasn't great with Krug, and certainly not the reason to get hosed on some panic trade.
-any update on the Buchnevich extension? Is he still being difficult to negotiate with?

I like Bennington too if wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have a cup ! He is no way worth the contract he has. We just have to hope Hofer is the real deal. |

Binnington won us a cup. Absolutely. He has gone down in save percentage every year after. Defense has been terrible and our offense does not help out the way it did during the cup run. Hopefully Hofer is good. He will be put to the test |

Yeah. One of the last place defensive teams will dress the same lineup and expect a different result. It’s not looking good for the Blues. Leddy I think was injured all of last season or was that Scandella? Either way too much for what the end result was. Faulk is decent. Parayko I want to part ways with. He is not the big body dman that was expected. He can’t hit the net with his huge slapshot. Fires it over 100 mph. Can’t hit the net. |

Krug hurt, oh no, well you blues fans can thank him for screwing up your season again. I find it hilarious the reason the didn't get Sanheim in the first place is because of Krug. If i were the Flyers i'd demand Buchnevich or Kyrou, otherwise shove it. |

Hopefully DB and company have thought about what I posted. We can move any player with Ellis LTIR contract even Coots if the deal was right. |
