You are seriously one of the most negative people on this site. I would hate to see how you are in real life. You must be miserable.
Everyday is something so negative. You are more annoying than anything else. |

I made an obvious joke (one that was too funny to resist)... you took it seriously, got bent out of shape and lashed out personally at a stranger over it... and I'm the one who's miserable and no fun to be around in real life. Okay, then
Seriously, don't take things so... seriously. You'll be happier if you just laugh along... or even if you just ignore or calmly debate it. Getting easily annoyed and off-put by others is your own fault, not theirs. I've seen you get into petty fights with Ducks fans, so it's clearly a problem of yours, yet you probably think that the problem is with everyone else, instead, naturally. Spend less time getting annoyed at others, especially for trivial things, and more on why you're so easily annoyed, which is something that you can change. Following this advice, you can become as positive of a person as me. |

I don't especially care that much, but I'm with that guy. The vast majority, if not all all of your posts are negative and are generally attacks against Muzzin and the Kings front office. I felt bad for Jason for having to deal with you. He was one of the best bloggers the Kings had (certainly better than Rosen), and he had to put up with your attacks all the time. Sometimes I question whether or not you're a Ducks fan in disguise that just comes here to agitate the Kings base. If you are, much respect to you, that's some pretty epic trolling. If not, then I pity you for targeting the team that you are supposedly a fan of with such disdain. |

Some of you are rather easily "agitated." An obvious joke agitated KINGS67 above. More often than not, I do post about things that I have criticisms about, but I try to do it intelligently, articulately and without resorting to hysterics or hyperbole. You guys are rather sensitive and thin-skinned if you think that that's agitating and trolling. I've actually seen you guys make harsher criticisms of the team and particular players than I have (ex. calling players "garbage," which I never do, not even with Muzzin), but you give yourselves free passes while I get called out for gentler criticisms, as an apparent outsider (even though I've probably been posting on Kings boards longer than any of you). It's a double standard, but it's nothing new or unfamiliar. I was even once on the other side, dogpiling on an outsider for daring to think that he was allowed to criticize the Kings as much as the real fans. Come to think of it, that guy was annoying because his posts were a lot like mine are now. Wow, I really have been on both sides. |

FWIW, I knew it was a joke. I was going to respond, Jake should move to China, where his hockey skills would truly be appreciated, but that could be taken in many ways Anyway, I'm still a fan of the MuzzMan! |

I certainly hope Muzz has a better season this year. He still has a lot of work to do even on his best days IMO but he is better in the line than out. I really think Lee and Fat should get a harder look at the 6 -7 slots. I thought Gravel looked terrible the other night and based on a small amount of pre season games, Forbort is not trending the right direction after having such a promising mediocre season last year.
I still think the pairings are difficult no matter who wins out for open slots
DD - Muzz
Amart - Ladue
Fat - Forbort
I would be ok with that |

I figured that you'd appreciate the humor, otherwise I wouldn't have made it. You're pretty easy going, which I like. It's a refreshing change. The last blogger (since tkecanuck brought him up) argued his blog points with a degree of authoritativeness because they were based on advanced stats and often bristled when someone (me, because no one else would) politely challenged his conclusions. You seem to not be absorbed in advanced stats and don't mind being disagreed with, which, in turn, is easy to respect, even when we disagree. I've really grown to like you over the last year |

I got your joke. I didn't find it offensive or annoying. If all your posts were like that, you and I would get along great.
Look, you don't really bother me that much. You have every right to be a Richard on this website (sometimes I even find it amusing). Honestly, I have a bigger problem with users that go around and personally attack users in other teams comments sections. However, if you considered your exchanges with Jason "polite", I would hate to see what you look like when you're not being polite.
My reason for chiming in had nothing to do with this particular post, but rather in response to you taking offense to being labeled as negative. As I said, most, if not all, of your posts since you joined this site have been laced with criticism. I'd be hard pressed to find a post of yours since you joined that was an overall praise of the Kings and/or their coaches/management. Again, if that is how you choose to be a fan, then carry on and more power to you. However, if that's the case, then I feel bad for you for having such a negative view of the team that you choose to follow.
Cheers. |

I'm actually a positive person because criticisms of the team don't bother me. Maybe you're an innately negative person if you need help from others to stay positive.

By "polite," I mean that I didn't attack him, call him names, call his opinions garbage and whatnot. Obviously, though, the term can be open to interpretation. Some people think that it's impolite to argue. I got the sense that Jason didn't exactly appreciate his blog points being contested in the comments and would've preferred everyone to compliment him on his writing, instead. If that's impolite, then I'm guilty, but any of us has as much of a right to write a rebuttal as someone does to write a public editorial. Perhaps "civil" is a more appropriate, less open to interpretation term. I was civil in my disagreements with him.

That's fine. I often feel badly for you guys for feeling optimistic and being bitterly disappointed, so it works both ways. I'm actually not that negative. It just seems like it when fans are a little too optimistic and I look like I'm bringing them down by being more realistic. If you guys were more negative, I might look like the optimist re-assuring you. Anyways, if we have disagreements this season, and I'm sure that we will, I hope that you'll argue with the actual points that I'm making and not simply pivot to complaining about me, personally. Keeping things on issue and not personal is what I'm interested in. Cheers, yourself. |

To quote one of my favorite movies. "You feel bad, not badly. Feeling badly implies that the mechanism that allows you to feel bad is broken."
Look, I didn't mean for this to turn into a back and forth about who is and isn't a good fan or proper site commenter. I call out unsubstantiated arguments when I see them, and in my un-expert opinion, you saying that you weren't negative was unsubstantiated. I feel like sometimes that we forget that we're on Eklund's site here and expect way too much civility from each other. I hope you continue to post however you see fit, and to enjoy your team in the way that makes you happy.
Good day to you all. |

Are you now trying to tell me how I feel, too? Seriously, you're right. It's a tough habit to break because employing adverbs after verbs is generally correct.

Being critical and being negative are not the same thing. The latter comes with connotations about the person's intent and character, especially when used in front of "person." It's also a matter of perception. You were right when you said that most of my posts are "laced with criticism," which is why I didn't deny it. KINGS67 is not substantiated in calling me a "negative person" (who must be miserable in real life). |

Jason was evenhanded and never stuffed opinions down anyone's throat. You constantly went at him just to argue. In fact, about a month ago, you had a post removed here because you took a needless shot at him. You've been fine since Sheng showed up (and he's done a fantastic job), but don't rewrite history thinking we have short memories of your antics.
EDIT (irony): I recall one argument you had with him where you edited your posts just to reshape points that he questioned. |

Jason was strongly opinionated, especially with his application of advanced stats, and strong opinions naturally invite rebuttal. Should those having fundamental disagreements with Trump just let him have his platform, uncontested, out of fear of looking like they're constantly going at him just to argue?

I made a critique that I ultimately decided to delete, myself, since it didn't seem to serve any purpose and Jason and I parted on good terms... but, if you want to believe that it was a personal "shot" that was so bad that a mod deleted it (when they let nearly everything go around here), then I can't prevent you from indulging your confirmation bias against me.

Do you think that that's a coincidence? I haven't changed; the blogger has. Sheng is less strongly opinionated, isn't a staunch proponent of advanced stats and has a much different response to disagreement than "if you think that, then I don't know what to tell you." Sheng tends to make points that are less highly debatable (ex. how he feels about things, rather than what the advanced stats tell us) and is much more easy going and happy to engage in debate.

You're rewriting history now. That was me editing my argument to clarify my meaning before it was replied to (something that I do quite often), not realizing that it had already been read and replied to during the time that I was editing. I explained that to you before and it didn't seem to matter to you, since you'd rather believe what suits your bias against me rather than the logical interpretation.
BTW, if you really think that I was antagonizing toward Jason, allow me to share a private message that he sent me after I wished him well in his new job:
Everything is good Osprey! Unfortunately for Hockeybuzz, I had an extremely good opportunity come up for me very quickly that required me to stop writing and tweeting hockey related things, almost too quickly to be able to give a proper sign off. Unfortunately I can't give any details past that, but it is an exciting new chapter for me! Thanks for always being a steady commenter and a challenge to the normal opinions and content on the blog. - Jason Lewis
In the end, he understood that my disagreements were not attacks or trolling and didn't take it personally. I wish that you'd do the same and stop using your impression of the past to feed your animosity towards me. |

That hasn't stopped you so far. You've assumed the worst without proof and it seems that you now want proof before you give up those assumptions.
Also, I hope that you're not implying that I would make up a quote (especially an entire paragraph).
Anyways, I just googled Jason Lewis and found one listed in the Kings staff directory as "Video Technician." It's a common name, but I've always suspected that he was hired by the Kings, because that's the best explanation for him having to immediately cease all public discussion of hockey.

The China games were pretty cool. I’d like to see more games played like that all over the globe.
Fatty is looking pretty sharp thus far, I’m pulling for him to make the lineup. Besides, he has a cool hockey name.
Lastly, did you guys see that Nolan was waived? |
