In any scenario do they consider trading Eichel this summer and getting a haul? |
|
|
|
without knowing what's available out there, realistically I think they can:
--hire an experienced coach (Q, Vigneault)
--re-sign skinner (hiring one of those two coaches might help that)
--buy out Sobotka
--let Gus and Larry walk
--re-sign e-rod and McCabe
--shoot for one mid-six ufa forward (Dzingel, Zuccarello, hayes, nelson, ferland)
--see what it would take get Brian Boyle for a couple of years (overpay if necessary)
--plan on adding Smith, Olofsson, Nylander, pilut and possibly Thompson to the lineup
--move on from one of Scandella or Bogo
--consider ufa goalie options, barring one, re-sign Ullmark to a one-year deal
--continue focusing on development in Rochester and Cincinnati
--continue feeding the pipeline
--be cautious about throwing around the extra first-rounder this year, but if a Montour-type trade comes along, go for it - Michael Pachla
Solid!

I don't get it.
Why are we piling on Eichel again?
He's not carrying 17 other players on his back anymore? |

Guy is a baby, little baby. He wanted this, he wanted ROR gone. He told Botterill before the ROR trade that he's ready to take over, then after the ROR trade during his meeting with Botterill and Pegula. Eichel is for Eichel, he is far from a leader. There is a lot more to the story but i'm to lazy and don't care enough to type it all. |

Some of the radio and tv insiders say part of the problem here is culture, that something somewhere is ugly and rooted deep. What are they saying, without coming out and saying it? Is it the water? Parking lot attendants? Ownership? Surely there may be some insiders on here who have an inkling of where some of this mess is rooted? It seems like it’s been going on for years, regardless of who is coach or GM. |

Doesn't matter what ANYONE on this site says, actually.
They'll either get on board or they won't. Like my boss says, you don't have to like each other, but you need to work with and for each other.
They're ALL puss!es if they can't at least do that. They must all really enjoy losing.

Never said they were.
But the chances of them trading Eichel are slim to none. No one is giving us their best player for ours. What's the point? |

Jack Eichel is NOT having an impressive season. I don't care what team he plays on, or what he plays for. He is a great player. But tell me how comparing this year to Derek Roy's best season is wrong? People never give Roy credit for his good seasons but everyone is writing home about Eichel's current 77 point season? It is simply not impressive.
You know what I do like about Jack? That he calls other players a pu$$y and tells them to go (frank) themselves. I LOVE that he is a gigantic douche-bag d!ck-head. At least he has the balls to call someone out to their face, unlike that whiny little mitch Ryan Miller who pouted and blamed everyone but himself for getting constantly beat high glove side.
I like Eichel. But his season has NOT been impressive. Cut the sh!t with the fvcking excuses, seriously. If he played on Toronto, blah blah, if Reinhart and Skinner played in Calgary, blah blah. Man give it a rest. This entire organization mailed it in after the New Year and they should all be embarrassed and ashamed...
The absolute worst part is the complete lack of effort and passion. They say they hate losing but they don't act like it. Of course, I would say I hated my job and skip all the way to the bank every day if I got paid 1/10th of what they make.
Bunch of trained, professional ATHLETES and we have the local, unedumacated, drunk denizens making excuses for them like their parents did to them when they realized they bred a loser offspring who will only amount to a beer belly, a flannel and an STD on Allen St. some night at 3AM drooling all over himself trying to light a cigarette while talking to an African refugee about how Bret Hull's foot was in the crease and as per the rules at the time, it wasn't a goal and then goes home alone and masturbates half-hard for an hour and passes out only to wake up in a puddle of his own piss and vomit. - BeadyEyedDouche
I see.
There is help out there.

It just feels that way because a rube was in charge for like 15 something years. and the guy after was even worse.
The current GM may or may not be good, but the cause and effect isn't backwards. some fake culture problem isn't what's making this team bad. They put together a bad hockey team and now everyone is moping. Remember, at one point they thought they were legit.
The Kings won 2 championships with a core that was made up of dudes hopped up on narcotics, binge drinkers, abusers, problem children and guys who couldn't speak english. They were a dominant possession team in an era where teams ignored it and they prospered. Oh and Darryl Sutter of all people was their coach
There are a lot of complications with building a championship team, especially in hockey with the hard cap and injuries, but the method behind it is pretty standard across all sports. |
