Accurate assessment. - j.boyd919
You know its funny, I've been coming to this site since 2006. Never played hockey in my life and I've learned so much from so many different people about hockey. It's almost like I could be a GM. 😂.
Seriously tho, off season is so comical. Especially with the trade Malkin rumors..... |

Women aren’t allowed to hit or fight so I would so that’s a pretty big difference - WSCTeton17
Wow Mr Junior hockey there is another bit of info that only you know. I was being sarcastic because he made his little comment about the alpha males shoving each other. So you must agree playoff hockey and regular season hockey is the same ?
So your junior hockey were you mentioned all your fighting majors is the same as
NHL playoff hockey ? Its the same game isn't it ?
The level of arrogance is unreal. Calling people stupid, dismissing their experience,
talking like your the only ones smart enough to grasp certain concepts with less than half the experience. I will say it again anyone who thinks playoff hockey is no different
than regular season hockey just isn't paying attention. The way the game is coached, played, watched, talked about is night and day. |

Let's summarize:
- Mario Lemieux's $6 annual salary is too much
- The Pens should trade Letang because they will win more Cups without him than with him.
- Once the playoffs start, hockey becomes some other sport.
- Pens should be actively shopping Malkin.
That's a pretty solid day. - jmatchett383

The highest level of hockey that I ever played was semi-pro roller, which had NHL rules (full contact, fighting allowed) and featured several players who had been drafted by NHL teams or attended NHL camps but never turned pro.
If anyone asked you if roller hockey and ice hockey were played different, most people would say that, like the women's game, roller hockey is not-contact which makes a big difference. In my case, that's not true, there is full-contact high-level roller hockey out there (Pro Beach Hockey was the poop back in the 90s).
Basically, while the stakes might be different, while there may be variations in how the game is played or how the players play, hockey is hockey. Rules may be tighter or looser, the pace may be faster or slower, and players may play with more or less urgency.
It's still hockey. |

Decent article putting blame all around. Suggest Kessel is gone but possible Malkin. - sammy87
Sidney Crosby didn't show up.
Sidney Crosby could fetch the best return in a trade.
Therefore, Sidney Crosby should be the first of the stars that gets traded.
Because logic.
Edit: Not related the link, just the general silliness of trading these guys. |

Man.... If Carolina sweeps, I'm a little concerned Rutherford might stroke out and burn this team to the ground. Getting swept by a team that gets humiliated themselves in the following round will not go over well in Ruthland. |

Semi pro roller hockey... I've heard it all now...
I'm really glad we spent all of this time clearing up the fact that there is no difference between semi pro roller hockey (whatever that is) and the NHL playoffs. |

So then pre-season hockey is exactly the same. Come on, because the level of
every aspect of the game is at its highest, the game is better, more interesting, more important. That's why people pay triple the price for playoff tickets. The difference is the level and intensity of the games. If you can agree that
the level of every aspect of the game is different, than the game is different. Simple. If your saying there is no difference in the way the game is played, the speed and intensity, the passion and the focus on details, the entertainment then
your not paying attention.

I disagree... He's going to notice the team that humiliated his team is on the verge of getting humiliated themselves just one round later. Sometimes how you lose is a good way to measure where you stand. For example... That dumpster fire with Philly several years ago. The Boston sweep too.
I've watched a bunch of these other playoff games and I can honestly say the worst team in the 2019 playoffs were the Penguins.....and not by a little. Whether it be personnel, coaching, attitudes or a combination of all 3. That sweep was a total faceplant. |

I completely agree that the Pens got embarrassed but how the Islanders fare from here out means nothing. It was already as bad as it gets. |

Has anyone ever considered Malkin might actually want to be traded? Wouldn’t especially surprise me and wouldn’t be something the organization would broadcast. Crazier things have happened than a Russian super star requesting a trade. If this hypothetically was the case I would definitely pull the trigger. |

I led my high school league in assists and PIM in the same season as a junior. I had 18 the last game of the season that year though or I would have been second. |

In my opinion, the only way you trade Malkin is if he requests one. I don’t believe he wants to leave Pittsburgh but if he does than I’d trade him if he asks. |

The level of competition drops, but it's still the same game. |

I really don't get this at all. Women's lacrosse has similar stupid rules that kneecap the game regarding contact. I think there's also some asinine stick rule that the refs can call a brake in the game at any given moment to check the pocket of any player to make sure it's up to code. I know they definitely check after every goal. Like, c'mon. Just let 'em play. - Victoro311
Part of it is understanding a females body and the fragility of their bones. Calcium deficiency is extremely common amongst older women. On top of that, women have weaker bones and ligaments as opposed to men. A big difference is the literal size |
