No it's not. Kessel and JVR together can easily bring that in if not together, seperately. Eichel is another Kessel. I'd rather have more.
- JohnFergusonJr

eichel plays NOTHING like kessel. couldn't be farther apart.

But dumbing Laich means they only really add 8 million.

I'm not saying they wouldn't be interested.

Just that Kessel isn't worth, in my humble opinion, worth giving up 2 first and a prospect for.

- Scabeh

It's two late 1sts and a prospect that Kessel clearly out performs.

something you never have to say to Phil Kessel

because he can't hold his breath.

because he's always panting.

because he's fat.

return could be good, but impossible to move him and JVR..and return will never come close to the end result of Hamilton / seguin. Hamilton to me, is the one who hurts more. And i know how good seguin is.
- clark_griswold

No one is saying the return will be the same. Remember both the Bruins and Leafs didn't think the Seguin pick was going to be a lottery. They thought it was going be a Hamilton range. So, Hamilton shouldn't be the one that hurt because that's the range Burke thought the pick would be.

Essentially what Dreger said was two firsts and 2nd. The very thing you're arguing about Kessel's worth. That's the argument not getting a lottery pick.

I think many have forgotten what they use to say about Kessel before he was drafted. American Crosby as I remember it.

Bottom line, I'd rather just take Marner and get a bunch of top prospects for Kessel than just have Eichel. He's no McDavid.

i'm saying a pick we get will be mid to late (why would a rebuilding team take fatso?)...lets' say it's 15th overall.

then a good young player (how good?)

and regardless, hamilton is a franchise dman. that's what hurts. as good as seguin is, he's like kessel at centre (no defensive game at all, plus a douche off the ice). Points are all he does. DOugie is the guy we could really use right now and the next 10-15 years.

San Jose comes to mine. I think that's the best chance of where Kessel ends up.

It'll be even funnier if Carlyle ends up their coach.

I really don't understand the comparison between the two.... aside that they're both talented.... I guess?

I want Kessel and Carlyle to be reunited.

San Jose has the cap space and the team to make the deal. Plus they are weak at RW too.

Washington has 19 million in space, more once the cap goes up and 4.5 more if they dump Laich.

I don't know what Eichel has done to make him this can't miss franchise player, I think he will be the fourth or fifth best forward out of the draft. I don't see this superstar player some think he will be.

Kessel played the best hockey of his career under Carlyle.
He disappeared after he was fired. Maybe he'd like reunion also.
