11 G over the past 2 seasons. Yes awesome.
- Djapana

He was actually hurt in 2018.
Played 3rd line minutes with Dallas but had awesome playoff.

He is a good pickup.

Meh. I guess due to the salary, Perry is a better signing, sure. Both probably end up on the "meh" end of things

Don't forget Simmonds also has a full NMC while gaining double the salary.

Habs are over cap.
Might be something in the work with LA. Armia could be part of it. He’s on his last year and won’t resign with Gallagher/Anderson/Toffoli all RW signed long terms.

Guarantee he'll drive the Leafs best players absolutely batty.... A London kid giving to Leafs how sweet is that. Pears thrives on that stuff.

I mentioned the salary and I'd imagine the NMC had more to do with being waived when there was a theoretical AHL season at the time and he wasn't interested in that early in UFA signings. Either way, both probably end up being meh but I'm in no way upset at the signing

I would've preferred his brother Luke, but since he wasn't available then this will have to do

I am not sure how Frolik and Perry move the needle, quite frankly.
- Mashadar

Frolik is depth, but Perry is as good as it gets in terms of 3rd or 4th line agitators. I can't wait to see him slash at Marchand's nose.
Edit: just forgot about the division. Matthews will do then.

I'd hope there aren't a lot of times Perry is matched up against Matthews. That likely ends poorly for the Habs more times than not

better signing than Frollik imo. he had excellent playoffs last summer.
the forward group is getting pretty crowded isn't it?

better to have guys like perry and frolik sitting on a taxi squad than young guys who need PT. Once the AHL season starts in Feb.

another point is a guy like perry, and to a much lesser extent frolik, might have some value at the TDL for teams gearing up for the PO. or to the habs if they are in the PO

I think that both are good pickups for the $. This is going to be a complete different game this season. It’s more like a round robin tournament, every game is going to matter. Level of frustrations and animosity is going to be very high, we need bodies to step in and handle the physical aspect that is coming. In normal years we play a lot of insignificant games, this season is going to be interesting to watch.

Go Marc, do what you have to do!

Byron or Armia are probably on their way out. My guess would be Byron, MB trying to build a tough team to play against.

Loved Pears as a Duck... Matthews and co. should get used to many more whacks, cross checks, trips and slew foots.

Watching him and Jumbo joe lumber up the ice at glacial speed should be pretty interesting. Laughing about how all their best years were spent out west and now just collecting $$$$$ to skate around do nothing.

He’s a better fit and player then Simmonds, I’m actually happy with that. Actually a pretty good deal at that price. Played with weber & price at Canada hockey. Won a cup, big man that use shoulders and body, can score goals, can drop gloves. Perfect vet for a 3rd/4th line and in case of injuries (which will have this year).
I like those deep signing. Some people will be in the taxi squad with all theses signings. Good thing is we shouldn’t see Weal for a while.

There will be a good fight for the lines now.

- MONSTERSofMETALZ

I like it too, thats the type of guy you need on a 4th line, not Byron !

At least come playoff time

5g in the last playoff is a tad more important

And physical with experience on a 4th line might be good in the playoff

5 goals last playoffs.

That's 4 more than Giroux I believe.

- Scabeh

Giroux Playoffs, 16 Games, 8P = not so good.

Perry Playoffs, 27 Games, 9P = Awesome !!!

Whos talking about Giroux ?

Secondly., perhaps the expectations are not the same for a first line guy than a 4th one ?

Players coming in but not going out. Probably could have done better than Perry if they unloaded some unwanted baggage earlier.

Well you need all kind of players. You can’t have 4 lines playing 20mins each.

Bergy getting depths because with COVID and Injuries it’s a need. He’s doing a solid work this year
