Do we go "BPA" (and I put that in quotations, as every draft board I've seen is drastically different) or draft for need?
If it's Power, half the Sabres fans are going to riot because it's a defenseman.
If it's Beniers, half of them will say we reached. |

"McTavish is at No. 2 for us not from one tournament but rather from the collective history, knowledge and evaluations we've had over the past two seasons watching him develop and mature," Marr said. "But any one of Johnson, Hughes, Eklund, Guenther or [Michigan forward Matthew] Beniers could be selected at the No. 2 spot.
"Our group views McTavish as that coveted power center that possesses the elite package of size, smarts, skills and compete which all NHL clubs look to add. But the next few names could also be selected in any order as each can be considered impactful franchise players."
Going to be very interesting indeed. |

So if Powers is the supposed number 1 and we win the lottery and get the 1st pick, then if someone in the top 5 wants him bad enough then trade down and get another asset. |

McTavish was definitely impressive at the U18’s.
Maybe if the OHL was not cancelled that #2 ranking would not look so out of touch.
Tough to know forsure though due to lack of sample size |

Gerbe,
Following the model I proposed yesterday that the team play an exciting, fast-paced game focused on puck possession and an unrelenting two way game...
Give me your top 5 prospects you believe fit that profile. |

Top 10 of this draft being underrated. Maybe not superstars but some really good talent. |

So could the Penguins be a team to look at before the Expansion draft, they don't have a lot of picks and could be a few players available they can't protect. |

I would not trade down
just get the guy you like best at pick 1, 2 or 3 |

I'd think about trading down to no lower than 5 if a team there wants to give us a top 6 or top 4 or starting goalie.
If things stay, does #1 to Columbus for #4 and Elvis work? Just spitballing here. |

I do not care if it's Bernier, Eklund, Guenther, Clarke, McTavish, Power, Edvinsson, Wallstadt or even Lysell
I mean the mass is complaining years later that we didn't pick Pastrnak at 2, even though he was not ranked in the top 20 anywhere before the 14 draft |

That's cool, I think if it's a decent asset I would trade down a few spots with how jumbled these rankings are this year. |
