JT back on the ice 1 week later is cray! Good for him. Still don’t expect to see him suit up for another 2-3 weeks but you gotta feel good seeing this....not just as a fan but as a fellow human. Go Jonny go go... |

DeSmith was hurt. Legace really couldn't be worse though. Jarry was the Islanders MVP. Boston will mutilate them. Just like 2019 when they got humiliated by CAR. - jfkst1

Weird how the Isles always have the best goalie, maybe time to start looking at why? - Garnie
Not a big secret. |

Since we're speculating on who the best goalie in the world is, based on extremely small sample sizes...let's look at some actual stats:
Sorokin has a 1.95 GAA and .943 SV%
Jack Campbell has 1.01 and .965
Hellebuyck has 1.60 and .950
MAF is 1.66 and .935
Grubauer has 1.75 and .936
Rask has 1.81 and .941
So that's already 5 goalies with a better GAA and a couple of them with better SV%. So why is the article about Sorokin and not, say Campbell or Hellebuyck? |

I knew this would get under your skin! he’s very good for sure but let’s slow your roll a little on the poor guy for Christ sakes! After all it’s not like he’s playing behind the 80’s islanders. In fact if I’m not mistaken he’s playing for a franchise that has only made it to the second round in 35 Years! - Bobd62

I would say he has the makings of a superstar goalie in the nhl but a little early because he has to earn that honor. He looks like a superstar in net, calm, quick and just looks amazing. I have not seen anyone technically this smooth in a very long time. You have to remember he is not a kid and has won it all in the KHL so he is not a one series wonder.

Because Sorokin is the new kid on the block. The guys you mention have been around for a long time and Campbell for example has taken 10 years to show a pulse. Sorokin is a different kettle of fish.

Hi kids. Ek's mom once threw tennis balls at his head so I trust his goalie evaluations. Talbot shutout Vegas last night so he's the second best goalie ever. What say you? What say me? Say it together with Kyle Palmieri? Is Lionel Richie the greatest singer of all time, kids? Kids???? - gergeswillems
Lol, I don't want to give EK any credit either but in time Sorokin will prove that he was actually right for a change. It was not tennis balls his mom threw at him, it was sharp edged rocks that has made a serious dent on his ability to make responsible comments. |

The best you've ever seen? what about Hasek? Or Roy? Or Brodeur? Belfour? Jim Carey? (to name just a few goalies in more recent history).
Better than them? - El Narco Papi
Reading Comprehension dude - he said "I truly feel he has the best glove/blocker combo I've ever seen"
Never did he say best goaliew

You are correct, for now Varlamov is better.
Oh, wait... did you mean your two guys?
They are very good and it will be fun to watch all 4 of them duke it out over the next few seasons |

Sorokin is one year younger than Vasilevski. - AdamFrench
Hey Adam, You of all people should know that Sorokin has been a star in the KHL for years. Vasilevski would be a rookie in the KHL too and and would also be a star as well. As good as Vasilevski is put him in Anaheim and he would do no better than John Gibson who is a beast but has a hard time winning. I don't know if you are knocking Sorokin or not but the one year age difference means nothing. |

Maybe you should google it again brainiac! Since 1985 islanders won two playoff series twice 1993 and last year! If they beat the bruins it will make three in 35 years! |
