I'll be disappointed when he doesn't sign, not so much with him, but this rule that college kids basically can do whatever they want before even playing a single NHL game seems backwards.
Id like to see the team that drafted the player given unlimited contract rights, meaning they can offer any term or dollar amount they wish, while all other teams can only offer the rookie max.
It gives the drafting team a bit more control and still allows the college player to go to FA if he wants to. - Sabres1523
Or just make them sit a year if they don't want to sign. No hockey anywhere. That will send a message to teams who the player thinks matters more, and that won't garner him many fans. It makes the whole thing go away.

because the have one of the greatest players ever to play the game in Crosby and they have an all-time, top-101 in Malkin as his sidekick? - Michael Pachla

It just happened to be the last song I listened to. Way better than the original, but that's probably due to the fact that the original sounds like a single track recording on the other side of a wall. - Wetbandit1
I can't remember ever listening to Anthrax in my life before that song

Maybe they can, it's definitely possible, but considering they are 4 mil above the cap now, and will be pushing out more NHL talent out the door, I don't see how they get much better as their core gets older.
They obviously have Kane, Toews, and Panarin with tread left on the tires.
But Hossa, Keith and Seabrook are all on a decline. - sbroads24
I wouldn't write those 2 off yet, if Hossa is playing for $1M a year, that means he still wants to play and can make an impact, sure he might only play 65 games, but he's still worth it.
And Keith is a workout fanatic. I wouldn't be surprised if he played well into his 40's.

We also have one of the highest percentages of Alumni who stay here after retirement, I read. It may not translate to College UFAs or young draftees because the "perks" are for a somewhat older crowd though. Having a good school system, a low cost of living and cheap housing aren't things that the average 18-21 year old aren't concerned with. (At least this is the only logical explanation I've come up with). - RhinoFan
Yeah, cost of living doesn't matter a ton when you're making a million dollars a year. Unless you're in NY or SF, that is where you need a million dollars a year to live like a person and not cattle.

Anyone hearing any other names besides Boughner, Housley or Tocchet ? - 22sabresQ
Heard on GR JBot is already calling people that interviewed to tell them they are no longer in the running. Would think that means the Boughie man would be out. Seems odd cause how can he be so sure he's going to get his guy? Would be a bad look if he hasta run back to one of the guys he turned down. 89 mentioned Donatelli and he is who I'm rooting for. Tocchet is a regular Don Juan and I Don Juan nothing to do with him being the next Sabres coach.

Seabrook just sucks now. - Wetbandit1
Keith's play is already starting to dip a little bit
Gotta think, the dude has probably played like 100 playoff games at 30 minutes a night. It's gonna take a toll sooner or later
