I heard something before, an RFA theory (help the team ), that guys may be willing do bridge deals and wait til the cap is supposed to ballon once Seattle comes into the league. It’s not a terrible idea, but risky obviously. Guys could conceivably earn an extra two mill a year if they waited

... And likely even more so since during that postseason game, Prust wasn't even given a penalty for his action to put Montreal down a man for at least 2 or 4 minutes, yet alone the 5:00 major and game misconduct it should have been, with the ref standing in clear view looking directly at it.
I believe when it was revealed the next day that Stepan had suffered a broken jaw, Prust was finally served with disciplinary action.

If I’m the Sharks, I’d be a little worried about an offer sheet to Timo Meier. They’re in a vulnerable position right now with the salary cap, and Meier is only getting better coming off a 30-goal season. What if a team offers him six years/$40 mil and Sharks are only at 2/$10?
