Come on JB get rid of Baertschi and get Dzingel.
Van has now has very little cap space. |

The Canucks have been getting more competitive every year for the past couple of years. Benning has added a couple pieces to help keep on that track. - manvanfan
Like Vantel said.
The defense just got bigger, more physical and better offensively. Miller added up front. More growth from the youth on the roster.
Even if you don’t like the deals, these are clear upgrades. |

Timo Meier's agent is sneaky fellow.
That year 4 money is insanely smart.
He can play hardball, and the qualifying offer has to be $10 million. |

Yes but I believe the deals are only marginal improvements and we could have got the same bang for less. |

The real improvement in the team will come from the young players getting better... |

I’m expecting playoffs. Look at the rest of this division. Almost everyone is getting worse/older - Nucker101
They are clearly better on D, with the additions Myers, Benn, Fantenberg (and Hughes!) and the subtraction of Hutton, Polliout, Del Zotto, Schenn, etc.
That might be just enough for them to challenge for a playoff spot, though I think they are years away from really contending.
I don’t hate the FA signings as much as giving up the first round pick as part of the trade for Miller...almost want to give props to JB for not messing up
Now to jettison some dead (cap) weight... |

Yup. I think they added about 25 goals and about 15 goals against less. Which would put them 245 Mid table and 230 which is top 10 for the good.
That's close to the Blues from last season. 244 - 220 |

Maybe TG is cut from the same cloth as JB and is just ahead of his time and soon enough we will all catch up to what they are..... Generational. - manvanfan

Yes marginal.
Puck retrieval , toughness , and net presence from Miller will only slightly improve Svens 50 games at home in the dark room. |

we can always differ on structure, but it would be a hard argument to say the bolded above is wrong. |

You think vancouver went from a Goal differential of
18/19 = -29
19/20 = +15
doubt it. |

Yes marginal Puck retrieval , toughness , and Net pressence from Miller will only slightly improve Svens 50 games at home in the dark room. - VANTEL
I think this is the problem. The benchmark for improvement is so low that any move by JB practically guarantees improvement over the roster we had last season.
We’ve hit an all time low for Canuck fan expectations |

I think you are still looking at the old benchmarks where the improvement was replacing Sven with Granlund when he was injured.
I hear this Miller guy can actually play.

Classic forgets how many one goal games there was last year.
Canucks lost 24 games last year by one goal. |

No they werent
16/17= -61
17/18= -46
18/19= -29
A change in season of roughly +45 is beyond optimistic
