they arent going to pick a kid based off a former junior association.. they will pick him because they think he is the BPA

Seems the scouts feel it's either Marner or Hanifin, going by alot of the pre-draft rankings I've seen. I still kinda want Strome too still. Why can't we have all three, we've suffered enough as fans to deserve it.

looking at Marner's numbers, it's clear that under normal circumstances, he will certainly be a top player in league for years to come

i wont lie.. i put hanifin slightly ahead.. closest to NHL ready (size and skill wise - as per most scouting reports) and the idea of a hanifin / rielly top pairing moving forward REALLY intrigues me.

that being said.. if there is any truth to the leafs targeting Reilly then thats a bit of a game changer as well

I just don't think the leafs should be passing up on a guy putting up 2 ppg for a guy that hasnt yet hit 15 goals in juniors. Wasn't Barzal suppsoed to be among the leading scorers of the CHL this year?

with regards to overrating marner its hard not to.... everyone and their dog would give up their grandmother to grab a top prospect like max domi, and marner is a better scorer already.

If the leafs really do covet a big center, and strome is gone at 3, Edmonton could be a pretty decent trading partner (Draisaitl). I'd be shocked if they would pass at the chance to throw Hanifin into their lineup next year.
